who are we?

We?, well actually me, with the exception of our awesome contributing authors, of course. I have a background in real estate sales with the last two years focusing more on the marketing and digital media side. Most of what I know was not learned in a traditional classroom but more of a pseudo classroom of the behind the desk type in an office of various possible locations; sometimes not wearing any shoes.

what do we do?

We blog about what is happening in Panama City Beach. A critical commenter once said that pcbdaily isn't even a real website, but a blog. Well put. However, a blog is by definition a real website. How profound. It's ok, not all are as smart as I.

I don't pretend to do something that no one else can do. I'm just a local trying to share information to those that seek it. I have my ear to the proverbial rail and try to stay in tune with what is going on. The cool part is, I enjoy it; a lot.

I love getting outside, taking pictures, attending events, being places, pretending I'm someone, meeting people, talking about our area and its growth potential, looking into the future, and getting excited about being a part of something grow.

why do we do pcbdaily.com?

Well, it all started back in September 2006. I was trying to find some basic information about Panama City Beach and discovered that besides the local paper, there wasn't really anything online.

I decided to start a database of sorts of all things related to real estate, growth, new development and the like. My initial goal was to do at least three posts a week and send a newsletter each Monday evening to all those that have subscribed. As of May 2008, my goal is to do at least 10 posts each week and I still have yet to miss a newsletter deployment.

Some people mistake me for a journalist. I'm not a journalist by trade, but maybe by practice. I don't call myself a journalist. Once again, I'm just a local trying to share information.
