What a weekend! The World’s Greatest Pre-Season Tailgate Party continued on Saturday, August 28th 2010 with a Spirit Parade at Pier Park – where fans turned out to show support for their favorite teams.  Numerous schools brought along cheerleaders, mascots and former players to be part of the parade, which included FSU, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Vanderbilt and more. As part of the World’s Greatest Pre-Season Tailgate Party, country superstar Sara Evans performed hit after hit on the beach at the Boardwalk Resort on Friday, August 27th 2010.  Even with the threat of further rain showers and some fairly blustery winds, the crowd was in great spirits as the wet weather stayed away and Sara put on a fantastic show! This weekend, Panama City Beach is pulling out all the stops and hosting a city-wide tailgate party to get you in the mood for football season – the likes of which has never been seen before!

From big name concerts to parades and championship games, you’ll have a blast whatever team you support. Post image for REMINDER – Three Day Christian Music Festival on the Beach

The Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, a REAL.FUN.BEACH. destination offering something for everyone, has announced REAL.FUN.MUSIC., a three-day contemporary Christian music festival featuring Point of Grace, Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant.  Part of Panama City Beach’s SUMMER OF FUN campaign, REAL.FUN.MUSIC. will take place Friday, Aug. 20 – Sunday, Aug. 22 on the beach across from Pier Park at the City Pier,* and is free for all visitors and residents.

“We are so pleased to offer a weekend that is inspirational and uplifting,” states Dan Rowe, president and CEO of Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “Our gorgeous sugar-white sand beaches and crystal-clear emerald green waters set the stage for three nights of praise, worship and reflection.”

Post image for Pier Park Concert Series – Heartbeat City Plays Tonight!

Tonight is the last performance from the Pier Park summer concert series for 2010!  To end this season with a bang, local band Heartbeat City will perform their upbeat 80′s pop style sounds – and will no doubt have the whole place up and dancing as they did recently at Friday Fest in downtown Panama City! According to the band themselves, there will be  some exciting surprises in store for tonight’s concert, so be sure to bring your blanket or lawn chair, and grab a spot close to the stage!

Farewell Pier Park summer concert series 2010 – we look forward to next year and a whole new season of fantastic live music under the stars!
