Wow! This years festival looks like it is going to be awesome. I am looking forward to go and support some of our fine local eateries like Finn’s – our favorite. I will be really fun to try the food from up and down the beach. Thank you for all of your work to make this a reality year after year.
Hey the kids will be out of town so this sounds like a good time for a date with my awesome wife!
Mr. Koertge can you enter me for free tickets to the festival… ta!!!
okay.. didn’t notice at first you had to post a comment about your favorite styx song.. I remember driving through the mountains on my way to provo with the song, “come sail away” playing on the radio and everyone in the car singing along… fun fun times… can I have the tickets please?
Last year everything was awesome!!!The cooking shows were the best. I have never seen so many wines, finally found one I liked. I am trying to win tickets so that I might come this year, money has been tight as with everyone, please . Consider me for two tickets. I would greatly appreciate them.
Thanks for letting me put my name in the hat for the tickets.
I wouldn’t mind a pair of those tickets
Daughter used to get free tickets for us by winning the pageant but she hasn’t wanted to compete last several years and I’m not sure the pageant is still active. We would love to have tickets to this event (btw, grandparents will be in from St. Louis, MO – would be great PR for them to go back & tell their friends about the fun!) Thanks
oops…forgot fav. song: Babe
I love everything about the Seafood Festival. We go every year!
Please enter me for tickets. Thanks so much!
Looking forward to going to the festival with our kids and would love to win some tickets. Thanks!
This will be my first year attending the festival. I really look forward to it. Free tickets would be nice. Thank you.
I would love a pair of free tickets and to hear Grand Funk again – long time since i have thought of them. Red Album was my fav – High Falootin’ Woman!
I love the song Come Sail Away. It makes me think of PCB every time I hear it. It reminds me of how relaxed I am at the beach.
Jason
Please enter my name for two tickets to the Festival. My favorite Grand Funk song is Closer to Home. They were a popular band when I was in college back in the 70’s. I attended an outdoor concert at Indiana University where they performed and would love to see them again.
We just so happen to be spending the week at our new condo, so we would love to see what PCB has to offer!
My husband and I had our first date at the seafood festival in 1992. I asked him out. That was 17 years ago and we’re still going strong. Was it because of the wonderful abmiance of the seafood festival…I’m not sure but I can’t help but think it played at least a small part. His very favorite Band is Styx – his favorite songs are Loralei and Lady. He’s never been fortunate enough to see Styx in concert so this is something I really want him to be able to do. As far as he’s concerened, nothing would make his summer more complete. As far as I’m concerned, nothing would make me more complete than seeing him happy…still after 17 years, he’s my best friend.
I would love a couple of free tickets. I nearly wore my 8 track player out listening to “People, Let’s Just Stop the War” by Grand Funk (E Pluribus Funk).
I would love the chance to win tickets. I moved down to PCB 1year ago this month and what a great way to celebrate! I LOVE Styx…i saw them in Vegas at the Mandalay Bay and would love to win tickets to see them again. Sign me up!!!!
Wow! Grand Funk Railroad at the Seafood Wine & Music Festival. Now that brings back memories of my youth when Were An American Band first came out, we would spend our day at the local swimming pool just waiting for the song to play just so we could sing along. It’s going to be awesome to see them in concert again.
Hi Jason
We are coming from Philadelphia for the week and arrive
Saturday mlorning just in time for the PCB Wine, Jazz & Seafood festival. We were in PCB for the Seabreeze Jazz Festival hosted by Nick Colionne in April and met you then. We are excited to be coming back.
We will come by to see you and hope we win the tickets!
Christine & Tom
We live in ATL but heading down to see Styx…they were the first concert my wife and I ever attended in West Palm back in 1973…Lady was my favorite and still ranks up there among the best. Bringing our daughter, son in law and grandkids. A couple of free tickets would be Great. Thanks
My family and I always have a blast at Seafood Festival. With Styx this year, our 6 year is beside herself. Styx has been her favorite band since she was 3 years old, singing most songs on their greatest hits album. I really appreciate the under 12 getting in free this year. Last year we went all 3 nights and it became very expensive considering our 6 year could not get enough of lunch with SpongeBob, roasted corn on the cob, and of course all the games her dad “had to play” so she could win a stuffed animal. We would be VERY greatful for free tickets this year!
My favorite STYX song is “The Best of Times.” When I was in college, I spent a summer in Switzerland. I needed some music for my walkman and bought one of their cassette tapes! I listened to it the whole summer!
This was the summer of 1983!
I would love free tickets. “Lady” is the best song Styx ever recorded.
I am so excited that Panama City Beach can attract bands like Styx and Grand Funk Railroad! This will be my first time going to the Seafood festival (driving down from Atlanta, Yeah!) I can not wait to “come sail away” in PCB!
My favorite song by Styx is Suite Madame Blue. I have it on my iTouch and we listen to it and their other songs constantly in our truck. The thing I’m most excited with this festival is to SEE Styx!
Oh my goodness, member of the graduating class of 1973, Washington High School, Fremont California. Yep, a California girl here. One of Grand Funk Railroad’s best songs, “We’re an American Band”, was playing at my graduation. I would love to see these guys in person! I could imagine I was still able to get into those platform shoes, fit into my fav bell bottoms and the guys would still call me “Legs”! They were “boss”! This will be done of the best festivals ever!
I meant “…ONE of…” not done! Just got excited!
RENEGADE by Styx has got to be one of my all time favorites. Just listening to it gets you revved-up and feel like a wanted outlaw for just a short time! A small respite from my otherwise boring life!
We’re looking forward to Grand Funk Railroad and great food! Free tickets?
This is sooo needed (the festival).
The promoters are doing it right by bringing in Grand Funk and Styx. The market that will come is this age group (no kids in school).
Support your festival !
Looking forward to this weekend and even with out “Mark Farner” up there with GrandFunk….I still look forward to seeing the boys. “We’re coming to your town, we’re going to party down!”
My favorite song by Grand Funk is “I’m Your Captain”(Closer to Home) because when I had to move away for a little awhile it always made me think of coming home to PC. I am looking forward to seeing them here.
wow, keep the awesome comments coming!!!
We are looking forward to attending the festival. We attended once before and had a great time. We’re looking forward to not only the great seafood, but listening to some “Footstomping Music” by Grand Funk RR as well. Hope to see ya there.
My all time favorite Styx song is by far Crystal Ball!!!! and the first cheerleader routine I ever learned was to the Locomotion by Grand Funk Railroad. Wonderful memories from my childhood. What an awesome way to win tickets to the best festival!!! Thanks!
Grand Funk Railroad rocks , Everybody listen to me
and return me , my ship
Im your captain , Im you captain
Although Im feeling mighty sick
We haven’t been to the Seafood Festival in a couple of years, but it has always been an awesome time when we have gone! Hopefully we will get to enjoy this year too. Always good food, great music and wonderful friends!!!
I would love a chance to win free tickets. The one thing I am most excited about this year for the festival is that it will be our last year as DINKS (double income, no kids), although, truth be told, since I’m a small-business owner, we’re more like SINKS (single income, no kids). I am due in 5.5 weeks (Friday the 13th, November) and it will be our last ‘fun thing’ to do before we become parents! It would be a great date-night with the hubby, enjoying live music, wine (for HIM) and seafood!!
I would love a chance to win 4 free tickets! favorite song by Styx is Mr. Roboto Im excited that they are coming to town!We have lived in PCB for 3 years and have never been to the festival:(
Jason, that’s an easy one, if you like a howling Hammond B3 and Grand Funk, then it’s “Foot Stompin’ Music”. I dare you to stay seated and keep your feet still during that one.
I love the song “We are American Band”. We need to support everything about America today.
Grew up with Grand Funk when FM was the cool sound….I can remember and still can hear the waves of the ship as they came to my town and Partied it Down!!!
Yo baby, it’s Some Kind of Wonderful!!
Come sail away was our favorite.. 1977 my Jr year of High school.. this was my girlfriend of the time and I favorite song…cant say what we did to it…lol
Being from Chicago and 54 years old, I remember growing up with a group of guys who practiced in their garage on the south side of Chicago! Great band to see in the bars, but then all the sudden they came out with their first hit “Lady” when I was a senior in High School. That was it, as their album with ‘Lady’ began to grow and around the time I was a sophomore-Junior in College It was a hit and I still remember their first big-time appearance in the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. I have since seen them at least a dozen times, last being just in Atlanta a couple of months ago at the Verizon Amphitheater. Dennis DeYoung is NOT traveling with them right now, so Lady was not performed! It was also my sons (when he was 4) first concert 14 years ago at Chastain Amphitheater in Atlanta. I have one more concert to go to before the PCBfest . . U2 at the Dome tomorrow!!
I am so excited about this year’s festival! I always enjoying going. The food, vendors, and entertainment is awesome!!! I love Styx. Their song Mr. Roboto reminds me of when I was young!!! I always thought it was the coolest song!!! I am really looking forward to spending time with my family, eating wonderful food, and enjoying the great bands! I would love to win tickets to the festival!!! Hope to see everyone out there!
Grew up listening to Styx and Grand Funk. We are actually coming to Panama City Beach from Illinois on Saturday. Free tickets would really make our trip!
Talk about a trip down memory lane….. It is going to be great and I love all of the music that is scheduled to play at the Festival this year! Sure hope I am fortunate enough to win some tickets.
We would love a chance to win tickets to the festival and to see Styx too would be even better.
I hope they do “Miss America” since it my favorite.
Let’s go with Grand Funk…We’re An American Band!
Jerry
Hy man I grew up with these two bands. Driving from Indianapolis just to see them. Free tickets would be “way cool man”…if you know what I meen..Dude..
Just moved to PCB area and love the gorgeous beaches, people and looking forward to the Wine and Seafood Festival. Since I grew up listening to both Styx and Grand Funk Railroad, I’d love a chance at the tickets. I think I still have those albums somewhere in my packed boxes. Sister is coming from Tallahassee so we will have a great time. Hope to see you there!!
My favorite song from Styx is Lady,it reminds me of when I was younger.
Hi!
Looking forward to seeing the cooking competition.
The bands are some kind of wonderful!!!
Thanks,
dianne palmer
that’s a tough one, love so many of their songs and hope to get to see them live… “come sail away, renagade, you babe, blue collar man, and the seafood should rock.. good luck everyone on the tickets.
in 1980 i dated a dj that worked for kz106 in chatt tn, he would play the song lady by the band styx, i knew then that i could call into the station and we could talk for a while, now when i hear the song, i think of all the fun that i had with him and the song just brings back some really great times, thanks for having such a great band at this years fest.
rebecca
Jason,
This will be our first time visiting this event…I hear its a pretty cool thing. We have been traveling to PCB for over 25 years. During the 80’s and 90’s it brings back fond memories of the road trips to the beach listing to the radio and tapes. We recently purchased a condo in PCB in mid August and Love it here. Just getting familiar with special events and all…It would be great to have free tickets for the event. This would make for wonderful Welcome to Panama City Beach home warming gift…Lol. We will be traveling from Nashville, Tn our primary residence on Thursday evening.
Please enter me for free tickets for the seafood festival. Grand Funk Railroad, the most criminally under appreciated rock band in history!!! In my early career as a musician we all learned as many songs by Grand Funk as we did by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Grand Funk’s music was as popular as Creedence but never got the same recognition. My favorite song by them is Foot Stompin’ Music.
Kudos to the festival for getting a variety of musical styles this year!
Jason, if it helps I read your emails every week!
While Styx and GFR are awesome, I am more excited about the food. Being new members to the PCB community, we are very excited about this event. We actually travel ~8 hours one way every month and we intentionally timed it so we could attend this event. Winning free tickets would be icing on the crab cake.
Thanks,
Benny
The wine is the best! Also lobster bisque……Looking forward to this weekend!!!!
I LOVE PCB!! I am an English Bulldog that is very thankful for my private beach at Pier Park. I have found that Pier Park is the most pet-friendly area in the entire deep south. I have never been to this festival and I am not sure if pets are welcome, but I would really love to win tickets for the adults. They would really be surprised and I would like to thank them for all they do for me. This would be my repayment for the thousands of doggie treats they have given to me. Thanks for thinking of me and my family for the tickets. Hope to hear from you soon.
Bulldog licks and kisses,
Butch
Great song by Styx is “Show Me The Way.”
When I was a wee younger lad I listened to Styx. “Fooling Yourself” always reminds me of Disney World, you know, at night when that magical Electric Lights Parade emerged with a harmony of synthesizer notes engulfing you in bliss that can’t be described. Who can do better then remembering Disney World like that while at the same time listening to STYX…and while slappin’ da bass….If it’s good enough for Paul Rudd, it’s good enough for me.
My favorite Styx song when I was in nursing school was The Best of Times. In fact, I used a line from one of their songs for the quote under my picture in my nursing school yearbook.
“Our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime. We’ll take the best, forget the rest and someday we’ll find…these are the best of times.” How true!!
By the way…I still have the yearbook.. Clara Maass School of Nursing class of ‘84…lol
I was there in ‘69 ( and before ). We rode on the songs of The Grand Funk Railroad who brought us out of a tough time with Viet Nam with some great hits like “I’m Your Captain”, “Words of Wisdom and “Get It Together”. 10 years, later Styx were the new kids on the block and finally nailed down a name that stuck. The new Styx keep the originals alive! It would be nice to hear them again.
Thanks
Bob Douglas

Went to the one in Destin last weekend and was disapointed in the wine and food. In fact best thig they had to eat was the funnel cakes. Sure looking forward to some good food this weekend!
Teddy
Looking forward to Seafood Fest all weekend w/friends. Went last year and it was great! Styx and Grand Funk Railroad are just an added bonus. Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s make these two groups quite memorable.
The fest last year was fantastic and I’m sure this year will be even better since PCB is definitely growing up fast-and once new airport opens will be transformational.(especially if I’m selected for free
tix) Good luck to everyone!See you there.
I’m looking forward to the Seafood Festival. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been so I’d love to go and see Styx.
The best thing I can think of about the wine and seafood festival is it is in beautiful Panama City Beach. Unfortunately I am not, but I will be come Saturday. I know the logistics of the pickup will exclude me from the giveaway, but if that’s the worst thing I have to complain about when I’m coming down for a much anticipated vacation then life is indeed good. Can’t wait to get there. I hope the festival is a huge success and selfishly that the weather will be great. Love October at the beach!!!
Ken, I didn’t mean for the pick-up “rules” to exclude anyone, just trying to keep it as simple as possible for me and staff. If you are selected, we’ll make it work for you.
I’m really looking forward to Grand Funk Railroad. “Some Kind of Wonderful” is one of the few songs I don’t mind singing out loud, no matter how bad it sounds. Great job festival organizers on really making this event a class act!
We’re still looking for a place to live and will be down again this weekend, but every time we visit we’ve always been impressed by the great food we find at all sorts of places; so I’m really looking forward to another opportunity to taste great PCB food.
What I am most excited about this years Seafood, Music and Wine festival is the celebration by Bay County to the welcome of fall and the goodbye to summer! This festival will showcase the best of
Bay County and our local surrounding area counties excellent food, crafts, arts, music and wine!
Bay County and Panama City Beach will proudly exhibit and promote activities and excitement…just because the sunsets earlier and the crowds have diminished…our beaches offer so much for
all visitors and locals of all ages!
What a grand way to celebrate the bountiful harvest of excellent seafood, talented artisans and gifted musicians..all in one venue! Welcome!
I am very excited about going to the Seafood festival this year. My family and I have been living here for 12 years and have not been to the Seafood festival at all, but this year we are hoping to be there. I have heard such great things about all the bands that play every year and also the bands that will be there this year I hear are Awesome! Hope to see everyone there this year!
Love renegade, but mr. roboto kind of ruined it for me.
The first album I ever bought was Cosmo’s Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival. The second was Survival by Grand Funk Railroad. I think that was around ‘70 or ‘71.
Survival had a great version of the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter”, which I hope to hear Sunday night. GFR were the loudest band around at that time and that’s how I listened to that record. Unfortunately, my first (cheap) stereo didn’t survive.
Steve
We are so pumped to be in PCB to see Grand Funk Railroad do “American Band” live that we are flying down from New York City!! Can’t wait to be there. Total kick butt band. Booked our flight as soon as we heard about the Festival. Looking forward to another great weekend in Panama City Beach.
Both groups have done some great songs but one of my favorites is “Feeling All Right” by Grand Funk”.
I am just so excited that Panama City has such a great event. Just one more reason why living here is so much fun! Thanks to everyone who does the work to bring such events here.
Hope I win the tickets because we are having company from out of town this weekend and would love to bring them with us!!!!
Thanks, Judy

I am just so excited that Panama City has such a great event. Just one more reason why living here is so much fun!
Thanks, Judy
I can’t wait to see Styx! They were on thier way up when I graduated high school. Fav song is tough, but Lady from the Equinox album is way up there, along with Crystal Ball. Actually both those albums are my favorite!
I love that the festival has opened up to more genre’s than the old festival that seemed to be only country. This years line-up is the best so far!
I was probably about 5 years old or so when Mr. Roboto was popular, and I thought it was the coolest song ever, but it really scared me, because I thought they were saying “Kill Roy” and I remember thinking “Why do they want to kill Roy? What did Roy do?”
“Best of Times” is definitely my favorite Styx song; that album was one of the first records I bought as a teenager. I look forward to another exciting Seafood festival this year, PC Beach organizers do a wonderful job providing quality entertainment for all ages and genres of music!
Would love the tickets, but either way,I cant wait to hear GFR play “Time Machine”.Their 1st single and I was there at Lake Spivey in Jonesboro Ga,to see them live my one and only time in 1969.
Cant wait to see and hear them live for the second time, 40 years later!!!
I am SO stoked that Styx is coming to town (again)! It is difficult to pick a “favorite” Styx song as they are all wonderful, but “Suite Madam Blue” is a classic and so is “The Best of Times.” These two songs written over 20 years ago remain relevant, perhaps even more so today, in the wake of 09/11 and everything our country has been going through… The other thing I am very excited about is the wine tasting. We are really looking forward to Saturday. We already have tix, but if we win, we will donate the free tix to deserving persons.
It was my 15th birthday, december 1970,, my 1st rock concert. Fairgrounds in INDY The band was Grand Funk Railroad, The song, Mean Mistreater . The effect, it changed and shaped my life. If you have never heard the song , look it up. Can’t wait to see old friends at the festival. We love the lineup, and we love Florida seafood.
Can’t wait for the festival ! Will be coming from Columbus,GA. Free tickets sure would be great. Was there a few weeks back for a wedding, can’t wait to see the beach again !!
We live in Pensacola and love going to PCB. However we have never attended the festival. We were planning on going this year for the first time. We look forward to seeing our old friends Rick at the Palmetto. See you all there.
James.
Can’t wait to hear Julianne Hough – I’ve seen her dance but never heard her sing. Is her cute boyfriend going to be there too?
This festival is just one more thing that makes this area so great! I was at the Destin Seafood Festival this past weekend and the Saturday crowd was very impressive. I know we have a similar results in PCB. Big name bands, lots of food, great venue…PCB has it all. Even with the big football games going on Saturday, I expect large crowds…and as always, great times!!!
I first heard of Styx on WLS out of Chicago Illinois – It was the song Lady and I immediately went out and picked up their album – which was Styx II. I was hooked and bought every album they came out with after that – I didn’t like them all but I always loved the band – from ballads to hard rocking they could do it all. Dômo arigatô
I was a fan of Grand Funk Railroad since 1970 with their album Closer to Home – throughout their career they balanced a mix of garage band rock and R&B and pop rock with a sound that is immediately recognizable – plus they are Homer Simpson’s favorite band. Listen to me – I’m your Captain!
We love the PCB area and spend several months there each winter, however, are currently in New Hampshire.
Sea food is one of our favorites in addition to Grad Funk Railroad. I think one of their best songs would exress my most sincere feelings if I were lucky enough to win two tickets… it would be: I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE. A great song and one often used when showing sports teams wiing the big game on TV.
Would love to come to PCB for some seafood, the wine and great entertainment.
I an going to be celebrating turning 50 this weekend & I have been attending the festival to celebrate my birthday forever!!
My six closest girlfriends will be flying in from all over & we would love nothing more than to see Styx & Grand Funk Railroad & to relive our YOUTH!!
“American Band” can’t wait. Another year of great line-ups. My family and friends are really looking forward to this year’s festival. Great Seafood from local vendors gives everyone a chance to try the wonderful seafood our restuarants have to offer. We do have the best! Looks like the weather will be great too!
Jason, what I am most excited about is the grass under my bare feet at the park. Sounds crazy, but I go every year and Frank Brown Park is the best venue for an outdoor festival because the grass is so smooth. Flip flops in hand, beverage in the other and good times at he festival! pcbdaily.com is the BEST! Thanks for the tix and see you at he show!
Dave
I have been a fan of Styx and GFR for many years. My favorite song by Styx is “Lady”. We attend the fesrival every year and are looking forward to this year’s more than ever. We are so glad that you have such a variety of entertainment this year. Keep up the good work!
Styx (Great Party Band) +
PCB (Great Party Town) =
Concert of the Year!
I currently live in Atlanta, but I grew up in Montgomery,AL. about a block from Tommy Shaw. We are close to the same age. I used to go to the bowling alley and watch him play solo in the lounge. He played on Friday and Saturday nights to a crowd of about 10 to 15 people. Of course he wasn’t famous then, but boy was he good. This was about 40 years ago. I am so excited to be going to PCB to hear him plan again. I am a big Styx fan and hope to win those free tickets. My favorite song is Lady.
Seriously ready for this getaway. Styx is an awesome band and I remember seeing them in concert many years ago. Looking forward to seeing them again and remembering old times. Where better than PCB? Hope to hear from you tomorrow.
It was April 9, 1974, I gave birth at 8:00pm.to a 8lb. baby boy. As I lay in my hospital room looking out the window at the BIG FULL MOON the radio was playing “I’m your Captain” by Grand Funk Railroad. Whenever I hear that song now I always think back to 1974 and “my little captain” I had just given birth too.
“Some kind of wonderful” would definitely be the theme song if my husband and I could have a date night this weekend!!! We love the seafood festival and are really glad it has upgraded to include the wine tasting:) HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Holy Smokes! 105 comments and still going strong! Keep it up and we’ll break some records on pcbdaily!!!
I love that so many people are stoked about this great event. The promoters put a lot of work into this and we are all excited for this weekend.
Come Sail Away is still my #1 choice.
I saw Styx when they were here a couple of years ago. They totally rocked out! I can’t wait to see them again this year. Great show!
Styx, What can I say except….Memories of better days. My favorite has always been “lady”. Second, “Come Sail Away”. I was in the military then, In Germany, half way thru my Carreer of 24 Years in the Army. Many concerts were available to the military then.
Styx, Elton John, Kiss and of course American Railroad, “The American Band”. Those were the days.
Years ago when I was 17 I remember going to see Styxx at Market Square Arena (in Indianapolis, IN) and when they played ‘The Best of Times’ I thought, “It is!!!” I would love to relive those memories again!
I would love to win tickets to the festival for many resons, but most importantly for my Father Max Bowden. He lost a long battle to cancer in the nineties. He was in charge of the PARKING and the buses out of Frank Brown Park to raise money for Surfside Band. He literaly was in charge of that part of the festival from his hospitol bed just three weeks before he died. With walkie talkies and two different phone lines people calling wanting to know what to do! He loved the beach and would be proud to see how it has grown. I haven’t been to a festival since that year. I think it is time I go check it out.Loving the beach and rememberiing him! Thank You.
Please enter me in the ticket giveaway. My favorite 8-track GFR song is An American Band.
My favorite Styx song is Sweet Madam Blue. My husband and I used to love to sit on the beach and jam out to that song.
My husband and I are both off this Friday and would love to win 2 free tickets. Last year we were unable to attend because we worked the entire weekend. We have watched Julianne on Dancing With The Stars and would love to see her in person……….
My BF (boyfriend) is huge styx fan so I am bringing him into PCB from out of town and taking him to the show. His favs are: Come sail me me & Show me the way. My fav is Dream Weaver. I am also excited about the Julianne Hough show Friday night, Great shows this year. Oh yeah since we are going two nights, it would be great if we could be entered to win a free set of tix.
Favorite Styx song, Come Sail Away. Favorite Grand Funk song, I’m Your Captain. Brings back some great memories.
Favorite Styx song? Hmmmm… (hint: peek at screenname). Seriously, can’t think of one I don’t love. I fell in love with Styx as a teen in the 70’s and have never stopped loving their music. Can’t wait to win my two tickets and go see them this weekend!!
OMG…Styx is the bomb! Love them soooo much. Fav song, “Come Sail Away”. Great song for a wedding. Bride comes in on the slow part and after they are presented as husband and wife, the interlude with all the guitars and they go out on the “Come Sail Away”. Just a great song for a wedding! I would love to see them but more importantly to participate in the seafood festival. Love seafood!
Favorite song by Styx is “Crystal Ball”, great acoustic opening into melodic guitar solo changing to power rock and back to melodic guitars ending, Tommy Shaw lyrics and vocals combined with the other voices of Styx makes this a great power ballad.
Favorite song by Grand Funk is “Some King Of Wonderful”, I perform it acoustically myself almost every gig. However, older Grand Funk RAILROAD favorite song is “Inside Looking Out” which shows what can be done with a only drums, bass and guitar..every player has to be good, and all three, Mark, Don and Mel are all creative in their parts and the song rocks!
I’m so glad to see some classic rock bands coming to this year’s festival. This is going to be the biggest ever. Because of me, my girls grew up with bands like Styx and Grand Funk Railroad. I’d love to be able to take them so they can see them play live. There’s going to be a lot of good songs, but my favorite will be by Styx, Too Much Time on My Hands. Thank you Jason
Hi just wanted to post about song from styxx. I love the song Domo Arigato Mr roboto. It always makes me think of my husband doing this funny little robot dance to it and I always have a smile when I hear it. I would sure love to have tickets to the festival to see it live. It would be awsome and a treat for my husband as well . Just look for the guy dancing crazy…lol
Would love to go to the festival. Glad to get the info this website provides and thanks for everything. Now give me some tickets…..please…..okay….pretty please…..
Can’t Find My Way Home by Styx
Tommy Shaw rocks the guitar and vocal on this song!
Chill bumps from head to toe!
My husband and I danced to ‘Babe’ at our wedding in 1983.
We both have seen the Styx in concert at different time and locations. Would love to get tickets this time together.
Favorite Styx song? “Come Sail Away”, if I had to choose…
Why I think you should consider me for a pair of tickets?
My one year wedding anniversary is Monday and since I am 7 months pregnant with our first child we don’t exactly have lots of choices for an exciting night out…. Plus, we could sure use one last childless date night!
I am old enough to remember Grand Funk Railroad when they first started.
Would love to see them again.
Styx is one of my all time favorite music groups. I love all of their music. The seafood festival is always great. I think it is awesome that they are able to get such great talent to come and play for us each and every year.
I love Styx and GFR. I would love to go. I have been sick and not able to work but just part time. So if you are able to give a couple of tickets away. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much.!!!!!!!!
My family and I just moved here from Alabama and we are soooo very excited to be attending our very first Fall Festival in Panama City Beach! We visit Frank Brown Park weekly and I feel so proud and honored already to apart of such an incredible community. The PC people here are incredible and I know the Festival will be apart of our wonderful experience here. We love seafood, wine, and Julianne Hough!!
I am a huge fan of great music! I love listening to Styx, Grand Funk Railroad, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, The Who, etc… I have never seen Styx nor Grand Funk Railroad in concert and I would love to! This would be a great going away gift to my boyfriend before he leaves on Sunday for awhile! Thanks so much for considering me! =)
Cant wait for the weekend!!! love styx and the song show me the way
No band defined my highschool years like Grand Funk. They are the only band from that era that I have not seen. I am so looking forward to it.
I’m a 51 year old that vaguely remembers what Rock and Roll concerts are like. Would love to jar my memory by winning tickets to see a Tommy Shaw and company performance.
I would love to win tickets to see Grand Funk Railroad. I loved them as a teenager, but never got to see them. Would love to see them now.
I sure was excited to hear the that finally we’re getting some real ole fashion rockin roll at the festival this weekend. I still have my “Records” from high school for both bands an I really want to try to get them signed!!! I love Styx but seeing Grand Funk Railroad would be SPECTACULAR!!! They look nothing like their photos on the gold album nowdays!! lol And to think 40 years later I could be there and see them LIVE….WOW….now that would be something I could brag about and be proud of for a long, long time!!!! Thanks Alot!!!
Wow, if i where to win the tickets, it would be an great problem. Go see Julianne Hough Dance “UNDER” The stars, or go “Sail Away” with Styx. When my “Babe/Wife” and I go to the Seafood Festival, we always have the “Best of Times”. The Festival was where we went on our first day, and i would love to keep that tradition going. Thanks
Okay. Styx has been my favorite band since I was 14 years old. The first “album” that I purchased was “The Grand Illusion” on 8-track tape! It was Rockin’. I later added the rest of the collection when they were released: Pieces of 8, Come Sail Away, and finally Greatest Hits. Now I have them all on my ipod. My, how times change!!!
My son goes to GCCC and is a freshmen and a aspiring guitar player. His funds are limited as are many college students. I have been a member of your site for a long time and have sent many people to you. I live in Atlanta part time and in PCB part time. My son and his roommate would Love the tickets and would I am sure spread your name all over the College.
“FEELIN ALL RIGHT” that is one of my favorites from Grand Funk. Looking forward to the Festival. Panama City is a great place to live!
Morning Jason,
Favorite Styx song….Lady. It was a new hit and was listening to it while walking on the ‘old pier’ after me and my first true love..ha ha left Miracle Strip Amusement Park. The 2 main local hangouts. Really wanting to see them this Saturday after Tickled Pink Rally.
Hey my favorite song by Grand Funk Railroad is Ain’t Got Nobody of the album We’re an American… Please Pick me!!! I’m so excited to go to the festival …
Styx? Again? YES!!! I last Saw them in ‘97 in Atlanta, and can’t wait to hear them again- Favorite Styx Song? Must I choose? Faves include Too much time on my hands, Loreli, The Grand Illusion , The Best Of Times, And Fooling yourself! However, all time Favorite for me would have to be Renegade- I can’t wait to see Tommy and the Gang rock the Seafood festival this weekend!!!
Styx is by far one of the top live performing bands and a concert you will not want to miss!
I saw them live for the first time 10 years ago in Atlanta, now I’m a groupie! I’ll follow them to the ends of the earth, well, almost.
The electricity is overwhelming, come out and “sea” for yourself, you may just have an opportunity to meet me too! Rock on, Diane Green
Hello,
My Husband and I coming to Panama City from Ft.Rucker to celebrate our Anniversary. Which is Sat. I know it would be a great surpise to my Husband. Although I cant tell you what our Fav. part is, We have never been. But I know it would make great memories. Felicia…
I love the flashback to my great childhood – - I used to have a poster/picture of Tommy Shaw on the ceiling over my bed. I think it came out of some teen magazine. I was all of 12 or 13 and I’m sure my mom and dad thought I was pretty goofy. It was all Styx, all the time – - and I lived in the city of Jazz, New Orleans, so tell me they weren’t good parents!
There’s no place better in the fall than PCB! I live in “L.A.” Lower Alabama. When the air cools, and the tourists flee, we love coming south to enjoy the beach. Nice website!
Blue Collar Man rocks. I like the motivation is gives me!
Should be awesome, crystal ball still a great classic from old school styx and some kind of wonderful is a great grand funk railroad classic probably my fav.Would love to win will be there on Friday morning
I would love to win 2 tickets to this weekend’s festival for several really good reasons:
1. I am a college student and I am broke.
2. I am driving 4 1/2 hours to go to the festival.
3. I have had 3 midterms this week and I NEED SOME WINE!
4. I am excited about the various music groups, great food, and possibly meeting Guy Harvey (since he is a very talented artist.)
PUH-LEASE pick me!!
Naturally…Styx is my favorite and I cannot wait to see them. Mom and Dad would never let me go to concerts, and I never got to see Styx. Better late than never!! Hope to see ya’ll there.
Jason,
Ok I didn’t expect such an overwhelming response…. I know it will be tough selecting 9 winners so I have no special reason why I should win other than it would be greatly appreciated an exceptional way to begin my day on Thursday and make for a terrific road trip down tomorrow night of course playing Styx to get geared up my preferred free day…lol Help me out here I’m not giving you a sad story or anything…Just want to have a great time at the festival. Oh by the way my Favorite song would be ” Come Sail Away” reminisincing of many sunset cruises, dinner cruises from St Andrews Bay….Do you think its a far fetch that PCB could maybe one day have Cruise Port for major Cruise Lines…Look at Mobile. Wishful Thinking but extrenely excited about new Airport. Let me know where to pick on the tix Friday..lol Later
“Feeling All Right” that is one of my favorites from Grand Funk. Looking forward to the Seafood Festival. Panama City Beach is a great place to live!
