The Cantina Bar & Grill Brings a Latin Flavor to Pier Park

If you are a fan of Mexican food and heading up to Pier Park anytime soon, then you absolutely must check out the new Cantina Bar & Grill at Pier Park. When it comes to Mexican, there are already several Panama City Beach restaurants that are popular both in terms of menu and atmosphere – but the Cantina Bar & Grill takes the experience one step further. The Pier Park location is a bonus (the restaurant can be found opposite Red Robin in the spot that Baja Grill used to call home), and in addition to the unique, mouth-watering cuisine, there are plenty of extras that you won’t find anywhere else.

The menu, although similar in style to a traditional Mexican restaurant, offers a much wider variety of choices. Appetizers include Loco Queso al Fuego – Chihuahua cheese with roasted poblano peppers, spicy chorizo sausage and mushrooms, fired tableside. There’s a great selection of soups, salads and lunch specials, and entrees include Baja Fish Tacos – grilled tilapia served in flour tortillas with red marinated cabbage, pico de gallo and one side. One of the best things about The Cantina Bar & Grill’s menu is that it offers some side items that you won’t find anywhere else. Jalapeño sweet grits, coconut rice, sautéed green beans and sweet potato chips are just a few of the delicious options to accompany your meal.

The Cantina Bar & Grill is an excellent choice when you are looking for a new Panama City Beach restaurant, but it’s not just the food that will impress. The Cantina is actually the place to see and be seen! Perfect for after work drinks, weekend margaritas or fancy cocktails, the restaurant is incredibly spacious and airy and is a great space to relax with friends. There are daily drink specials including buy one Margarita and get the 2nd half off on Wednesdays, and bloody Mary specials on Sunday mornings. Not much of a Sunday morning person? Every Thursday night at 8:30 pm the Cantina Bar & Grill is offering free traditional salsa lessons, and on Friday and Saturday nights from about 10:00 pm onwards the whole place goes from laid-back restaurant to hot Latin nightspot! Disco nights are hopping till the early hours, and there’s no cover until the season is in full swing!
The Cantina Bar & Grill in Pier Park is so much more than just another new Panama City Beach restaurant. If you like good food, culture, and vibrant music, it is definitely worth stopping by and seeing for yourself why this recent addition should be sticking around for a long time to come.

Open 7 days a week. Lunch 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Dinner 3:00 pm till Close. Bar Open till Whenever!

  1. They make the best margaitas — in my opinion—than anywhere else on the beach! You have to go by and try them and you will agree!

  2. We’ve been several times. It is the best Mexican on the Beach. Actually the best in the PC area unless there is someplace we haven’t found.

  3. My wife and I visited The Cantina on Sunday and it was the worst experience I have had in a resturant in many years. After being seated, it took over 10 min to get our drink order taken. Another 10 min was required to take our food order. 20 min later our food was delivered and it was cold, not luke warm, but cold. We finally got the manager’s attention and voice our concern. The plates were taken back to the kitchen and a while later new plates were presented to us. They were cold also. The food was bland. I will never visit this establishment again. With this level of service and quality of food, they won’t be open long.

  7. The wife and I went there a few Sundays ago, the waiter didnt really speak English, and the portions were very small and bland. I just hate spending $50 for a lunch and walk away still hungry.Locos across the bridge is the best bang for your buck as far as Mexican food goes, just my opinion.

  8. we ate there the food was wonderful but the service was the worst I have ever expierenced at any resturant. I have had better service at mcdonalds than I got their. No one was concerned with any of the people eating all they were worried about was playing around with each other. I even knocked my cup over into the floor just trying to get someones attention for a refill but all they did was clean up the mess and walk away! I will never return to resturant just because of the service.

  9. This restaurant is far from great. From beginning the service was horrible. The chips and salsa was unbelievably tasteless. We ordered Margaritas that were suppose to be top shelf but taste more like bottom feed. The entree was everything but good. The only thing that were edible were the French friens (Mexican fries). There were flies swarming and the AC must have been on “hell”. The waiter was real inexperience and didnt have a clue; however, I still gave him 10% for his horrible service. I will never eat there again..NEVER

  11. I was at The Cantina Bar & Grill last Saturday night and wanted a manager to know of our service issues. First, there were several tables available and being serviced outside, but we were told it would be 15 minutes before we could be seated. We waited close to 30 minutes. There were also tables available inside. When we asked about sitting outside and why it would be so long for a table that was obviously available, we were told that there were other large groups a head of us. When we were called for our table, she called us by the wrong name and thought we had 8 people in our party. We only had 5. The waitress then came over and also thought we had 8 in our party, even though we had corrected the hostess. Then, instead of getting our drinks for us, the waitress had to go “discuss” us with the hostess and the fact that our party was smaller than what she thought. We all ordered soft drinks and it took over 15 minutes for us to get those, because of the waitress talking to the hostess. When we ordered, we were told that you were out of shredded beef. It wasn’t late and that was strange. Also the fried chicken bites, that are described as having 3 cheeses in it, was full of a velveeta type of cheese. Not what we thought. All in all, we had a bad experience, with the staff and the food and will not go again. We thought you would want to know about your service issues. We come to PC often and usually have several people with us and have dined there before, but will not do it again.

  12. The food was great, but the service was extremely slow. Drink orders were the worst, it takes forever to get them each time you order them. We had a large group with empty classes and bottles wanting more. We had planned on eatting and drinking there with our friends for several hours but left so we could get drinks in a reasonable amount of time. I could understand it if the place was busy, but there were empty tables every where. I might give them another shot just to see, but I heard they were slow before I went.
