Newly Opened Miracle Strip @ Pier Park Annual Pass Giveaway

This month, Miracle Strip at Pier Park is opening to bring back all the great memories of Panama City Beach’s most beloved attraction. The rides are in place and soon, Pier Park will be roaring with screams and delight. At PCBDaily.com, we want to give you an opportunity to hit the park this year as often as you like by giving away an annual pass.

Tell us one of your best memories from the old Miracle Strip Amusement Park. Did you have your first date under the lights, maybe took a summer job working Dante’s Inferno or just had a great time with friends? Whatever your memory, post a comment below and WIN.

The winning annual pass includes a special “buddy pass” that allows the annual pass holder to get a free arm band for their “buddy” to ride with them for the day.  This works great for children who need parents to ride with them or are older and want to bring a friend when they come.

Our staff will pick the top 10 best stories and the winner will be randomly chosen. The announcement of the winner will be made two weeks from now in our March 23rd newsletter.

Miracle Strip at Pier Park opens this Saturday, March 6th. So go out and have a blast!

  1. As a native of NJ I never did vacation here, but my husband who grew up in GA did and he so wants to share these rides with our 4 yr old! As locals, we would use a pass regularly and our son could experience a piece of his father’s childhood!

  2. The most memorable time at miracle strip was going through the haunted house with my son at the time he was 3 and he laughed at all the scary things. He thought it was so funny to see these things and begged me to take him back on it over and over again. We truely miss miracle strip and can’t wait to go to pier park to enjoy the rides.

  3. WHERE TO START , I GUESS THE BEGINNING WOULD BE ABOUT RIGHT. I GO BACK A LONG WAY BACK TO WHEN MIRACLE STRIP WAS FIRST BUILT. I WAS JUST A KID BUT COULD NOT WAIT FOR IT TO BE BUILT. MY FAMILY WENT TO THE BEACH OFTEN , WE WERE FROM GEORGIA. SO I FEEL AS IF I WATCHED IT BEING BUILT!!! FINALLY THE DAY ARRIVED FOR IT O OPEN AND WE JUST HAPPENED TO BE AT THE BEACH, I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE TO RIDE THE ROLLER COASTER WITH THE RADIO STATION DJ,S. FOR MANY YEARS I ENJOYED THE AMUSEMENT PARK.
DURING MY TEEN AGE YEARS MY FRIENDS AND I WOULD COME TO THE BEACH AND GO TO THE OLD HANGOUT AT LONG BEACH(60;S) SOME TIMES WE WOULD LEAVE THERE AND GO TO THE THE MIRACLE STRIP TO MEET PEOPLE THAT WE HAD MEET THAT DAY ON THE BEACH BETWEEN THE HANG OUT AND MIRACLE STRIP IT TURNED THE BEACH INTO A MAGICAL PLACE TO HAVE FUN AND MEET NEW PEOPLE, BACK THEN YOU WERE NOT AFRAID TO GO TO PLACES LIKE THAT AND YOU COULD TAKE YOUR KIDS AND DROP THEM OFF THERE TO HAVE FUN WITHOUT THINKING BAD THINGS MIGHT HAPPEN TO THEM.
AS I BECAME A PARENT MY CHILDREN WENT TO MIRACLE STRIP ALOT, THEY PLANNED AND PLANNED ON WHAT DAYS THEY WANTED TO GO. I HAVE PICTURES OF MY CHILDREN (NOW 40 AND 36) RIDING ON NEARLY EVERYTHING IN THE PARK!!!!WE VACATIONED THERE EVERY YEAR, SO IT WAS KINDA LIKE GOING HOME TO VISIT A GOOD FRIEND!!!
AS TIME PASSED MY GRANDCHILDREN CAME ALONG AND YES YOU GUESSED IT THEY TOO WERE BROUGHT UP TO LOVE MIRACLE STRIP.I HAVE PICTURES OF THEM ON THE SAME RIDES THAT THEIR DADS AND GRANNY HAD RODE ON AS KIDS. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS COOL1
THE LAST NIGHT MIRACLE STRIP WAS OPENED WE TOOK SOME OF MY GRANDCHILDREN IT WAS SO BITTER SWEET IT WAS AS IF ALL THE YEARS SPENT AT THE STRIP COULD BE SAVORED . THE MEMORIES OF ALL THE YEARS OF MY LIFE MY CHILDRENS AND MY GRANDCHILDRENS PASSED BEFORE ME AS I WATCHED THEM IN DELIGHTED LAUGHTER RIDING THOSE WELL WORN RIDES FOR THE LAST TIME. YOU JUST COULD NOT HELP BUT CRY WHEN THE NIGHT WAS OVER.
I NOW OWN A CONDO IN PCB AND WE ARE DOWN QUITE OFTEN FOR VISITS. WHEN I TOLD MY GRANDCHRILDREN AND CHILDREN ABOUT MIRACLE STRIP OPENING AT PIER PARK THEY WERE EXCITED. I KNOW IT IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND WILL TAKE YEARS TO GET IT SIMILAR TO THE OLD PARK BUT MAYBE JUST MAYBE IT WILL BE DONE IN TIME FOR ME TO TAKE MY GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN , NOW WOULD’NT THAT JUST BE A HOOT. FOUR GENERATIONS OF MIRACLE STRIP PATRONS.!!!!!!

  4. Back in the late 60’s or early 70’s my little sister stepped in gum and got all tangled up when she panicked. She wouldn’t stand still so we could rescue her. . . It’s funny now, but it terrified her back then!

  5. When my kids were younger they use to Love Miracle Strip and ask to go every weekend, I have so many pictures of them riding rides and it brings back so many precious memories when I go through them. Then last weekend when the new Miracle Strip opened I was there with my kids who are older and they went on the rides and I couldn’t help but to just cry because just then I realized how much time has passed and how quick it goes by and it just brought back so many memories of my babies on the same rides they were on when they were younger.

  6. Unfortunately I only had the opportunity to visit Miracle Strip two times. The first was when it was open several years ago right after I moved here from Dallas, TX. There was a charm to it that couldn’t be duplicated. It was so evident that for decades memories had been created there – memories that would last forever.

The second time was before demolition, when I took these pictures for pcbdaily.

  7. I grew up in PC and my favorite memory was when my sister and I were on the bullet. We finally talked our parents into riding it! We were preteens at the time. My sister screamed the whole time. She was begging our parents to come get us down. She would scream “Momma” “Momma” “Momma” over and over. I dont’ think she stopped screaming the whole time. I still laugh when I think about hysterical she was that day. I don’t think she ever rode it again!

  8. I have lived in Panama City Beach for many years, but before I did we vacationed here as a family and of course Miracle Strip was by far one of the highlights of our trip. For this particular memory I was 7 years old and my older brother 14. His idea of fun and mine were 2 different stories.

My parents had trusted him to keep an eye on me while waiting in line for Music Express while they took our younger brother to the restroom.

Somehow in the 5 minutes they were gone my older brother convinced me that we needed to get out of line at Music Express and go into Dante’s Inferno. Hmmm. Well…let’s just say he was convincing and I was gullable. I remember saying how scary it looked and I didn’t think it was a good idea and all the while he said don’t worry, it’s just a ride…haha. I remember the long reddish tinted, hot, hallway waiting to get into the ride and hearing screams and loud music and having no idea what I was about to come across. It was too late at the point. I got on the ride and held on for dear life with my eyes staring up at the starry ceiling.

Now on the other side of the story were two very frantic parents trying to figure out where their kids had disappeared to as they watched crowds get off Music Express and we were nowhere to be found.

When they spotted us getting off Dante’s Inferno I remember my mother grabbing me and father grabbing my brother – and I remember being the first to say…”He MADE Me Do IT!” I got the easy break, my brother – not so much. Sometimes it wasn’t so bad being younger! 🙂

Looking back I have to say that I have my brother and Miracle Strip to thank for my introduction into fast rides, roller coasters, and the start of my amusement park history!

  9. I am so excited to hear that Miracle Strip is back!!!! My mom and dad used to take us to miracle strip every summer. I remember my family and my aunt and several cousins would go together. I rode my first roller coaster there. My favorite ride was the log ride, it was awesome!!!! It was the most popular place for anyone in our area to travel to for vacation!!! Can’t wait to visit and take my children to make memories like the ones I have!!!!!
