CYber SYtes Buys PCBDaily.com, PCBDaily Grows, Traffic Spikes

Wow, so over the last several months, so much has changed in my world (Jason), the world of PCBDaily and in the world of Panama City Beach.  Where to start?  Let’s start with Panama City Beach.

We have a new airport.

For the last 36 months millions of yards of dirt have been moved, millions of pounds of concrete has been laid and millions of dollars have been spent to bring our area into a new decade (or century?) of travel.  The airport discussion has been going on for 13 years, but in the last three, that discussion was catapulted from drawings on some fancy paper to moving dirt and paving a runway to actual planes landing there over the weekend.  That’s so cool.  Panama City Beach will be changed forever, so excited to watch it.

Jason Koertge has left the building.

Let’s jump to me.  Many of you know that I was onsite at Pier Park, managing their social media – i.e. Facebook and Twitter page.  I brought their Facebook page from virtually nothing to around 7,000 fans.  Of course, to take all the credit wouldn’t be fair.  Pier Park has sort of a cult following, it wasn’t hard to get people to become fans.  With that said, it was a challenge figuring out what the fans wanted to hear and how to tell it to them.  Once we figured that out, we just had to do it.  If you aren’t a fan, you should be, it’s a great place to keep up with what’s happening at Pier Park.  But, I’m not at Pier Park anymore.  I had a blast while I was there, and I learned sooo much.  But, that wasn’t my home.

CYber SYtes purchased PCBDaily.com.

In February of this year CYber SYtes purchased PCBDaily.com from me.  I was making some professional and personal changes and they had a great interest in it.  PCBDaily has always been an awesome marketing tool for me professionally and has opened up more doors of opportunity than I can count on all my fingers and toes.  They saw an opportunity, so did I, and we both jumped in heads first. They hired Cebo Campbell as a designer and Ellie Cominos as a copy writer, so the other two writers I had working with me on PCBDaily were still a part of the team.  Along with the changes, traffic began rising, ads were being sold and overall demand for this great product that I created in 2006 was increasing across the board. This is all great news.

So, who is CYber SYtes?

CYber SYtes is a local web design firm that’s been in business for 15 years.  They’ve done projects ranging from real estate websites to hotel accommodation websites to large community sites like Panama City Beach’s Chamber’s website.  Their skill and experience is literally unmatched in the area, and they come home every year with a cadre of new awards from their stellar design and creativity.  Sorry if that sounds salesy, just trying to explain how cool they are. This takes me to the next part of the story.

Jason Koertge joins CYber SYtes team.

At the beginning of the CySy buying pcbdaily discussion, we all noticed a spark between myself and the CYber SYtes staff. It seemed like we would be a good fit for each other but we weren’t sure how to pursue it.  We all had some good ideas and we had tons of fun talking about them.  After a couple months of talking, we all decided to make a move.  So, I joined CYber SYtes as Director of New Media.  We aren’t exactly sure what that is but we know it sounds like a lot of creative fun.

The future of PCBDaily

Well, with change, comes great things.  Not only do we have the same great writers as before, we now have a design, administrative and sales staff backing all the efforts.  It’s fun having a good system in place for everything.  We are looking at some rebranding ideas, a new site design, some collateral creation (stickers, shirts, etc.) and increased coverage to grow the content and offer you more value as a Panama City Beach resource.

Stay tuned!

  2. CySy is truly a gem for this area. I’m glad to know that two of my favorite things are all combined together. It’s like peanut butter meets jelly.

…or maybe I’m just hungry for lunch. 😉

    Joking aside, this is cool!
