Pier Park will come alive this weekend with BeachFest! This fun, family oriented event will take place Saturday, July 17th starting at 4:00 pm with the evening events ending with a 9:00 pm fireworks show. It’s a celebration of thanks for all of the guests visiting Panama City Beach whether they are visiting from 20 or 2,000 miles away. It’s all about family fun at Panama City Beach and there is no charge.
The day begins at Pier Park Beach with an awe inspiring sand creation by master sand sculptor Mark Flynn. Flynn will set the stage with his own sculpture to be completed by 4:00 p.m. and then he will offer sculpting techniques and demonstrations to the public until dusk. His creation will be in the New Pier Park Beach and that will also be how-to central.
At Pier Park Center there will be live music, face painting, and balloon art, beginning at 4:00 pm. Featured children’s entertainer, Cowboy Dan from Nashville, takes the stage from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. After his show, Cowboy Dan will lead all of the kids to a Pier Park Beach Ball Drop where they catch colorful balls. As the sun goes down, enjoy the soothing local vocals of Massalina Cargo as they take the stage from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
Looking for something challenging for kids of all ages? Teens, seniors, adults? Let them show their stuff at the Wii Sports Tournament at dusk. This fun yet competitive venue is sure to provide good clean fun with lots of action! This event will be hosted in the promo area near Starbucks.
For all of you pet lovers, there will be some fun in the sun activities for you and your furry best friend too! Suit up those canines and bring them to the Doggie Swimsuit Contest at 5:00 pm at the City Pier Doggie Tent on the beach…..after all, dogs deserve a little fun too! There will be fun, prizes, and giveaways for all to enjoy and this is sure to be a contest you don’t want to miss.
The day is made complete by a two spectacular fireworks displays. One will be at City Pier and the other will be at Grand Lagoon. If you missed the Fourth of July festivities, you won’t want to miss this impressive display taking place in two locations on Panama City Beach.
Many of our Panama City Beach businesses will be hosting their own contests and activities along the beach, so be on the lookout for their signs, posters and displays!
