  1. Hi Patricia! I looked on their website, and the only thing I can find there is the application for contestants. They did have a phone listed though, maybe that will help get you some better answers? Good luck!

“Once you review the application if you have further questions please call 850-630-4545”

  4. Well, the Strawbery Festival came and went. Great idea…less than desirable execution.

Let’s start with $10 admission price that you don’t know about until you walk down the long sidewalk surrounded by chain link fencing.

Then, let’s talk about the price for the kids rides…Five $2 tickets to bungee jump; you can ride the same bungy jump in the mall for $5.

The vendor lineup was VERY light; although they were pretty good and well set up.

The most aggregious offense seemed to be the way they turned away countless pet owners on a beautiful sunny Sunday. It wasn’t the fact they turned them away, but the fact there were NO signs posted anywhere until you walked that infamously long chain link fenced sidewalk again; just to be embarassed while you were turned away. It seems like they could easily have sold doggy-poop bags to generate a little extra cash and allowed a hundred or so exta people to pay their $10 to get in.

There were positives to the Festival. First of all, GREAT idea at the perfect time of year. Secondly, the food vendors were really pretty good. Mostly, the band playing on Sunday (Sweet Caroline) was REALLY good; the 14 year old front girl was a talented entertainer and was probably worth the $10 if you were going to see a band.

It cost me $50 for my family of five just to walk in the door. No local discounts, no family discounts, no you-didn’t-bring-your-dog discount. This was a “it’s a pretty day, after church, let’s stop by” thing. I think maybe the communication was what could have stood the most improvement. No signage about anything until you made that long runway walk that seemed to trap you in and embarass you into forking over the $10 per head.

I am sure they will learn some lessons from this year and make it a little better next year. I do hope they come back…just a littlle better and a little more family friendly.
