Pier Park, the 1.1 million square foot retail shopping adventure that has all but redefined the west end of Panama City Beach has been a hub of activity since it’s grand opening in February of 2008. With big brand anchors from Dillard’s to Ron Jon Surf Shop to smaller mom-and-pop shops that offer fun, local flair, Pier Park is the place to go whether you’re here vacationing or you’re a local looking to do some shopping.

Most of the larger retail stores are wonderful for the residents of PCB….some people shop these when on vacation but many tend to love the smaller shops that are located up by the Boardwalk….. they are the unusual, quaint shops that a person finds just the right unique gift for someone or themselves that no one else has! Now, that’s what I love! 🙂

Hey, Beach Bouncers is a business that has been at Pier Park since 2009. Open March 1 – December 31 each year. Beach Bouncers was the first kids amusement attraction at Pier Park.

Shoney’s? Really? First Walmart and now this? I am becoming more and more discouraged by the establishments that are entering Pier Park! We need a Macy’s, Fresh Market, Apple Store, J. Crew! We could even add more unique and cute stores that tourists seem to love, and how about a swanky or funky original restaurant in place of Marina?! What happened to being able to shop here instead of Destin? Why can’t we bring stores that Destin doesn’t even have like an Apple store? Why cant PCB be the shopping meca of the panhandle? We have way more people who actually live in PCB than in Destin! When I’m in Destin shopping, I meet so many workers and shoppers from Panama City. We have all driven there to shop and work and we meet eachother in Destin..so sad! I know that it is hard to attract stores as the numbers have to be there and the stores/restaurants need to want to come, but I’d rather have no growth and preserve our potential for something that will add class, reputation, and beauty to our beautiful community and beaches than just add quick growth that is uninteresting, unoriginal, and adds little class or advantage to the community!

lol lol Shoney’s is the craziest thing to come to Pier Park that I have read about but, even though many talk against it & Wal-Mart……… Boo-Koo’s will be shopping there and spending money! It seems both are America’s Favorite’s but many do not want to admit it! 🙂 “Shaking My Head”
