On Thursday, December 31, New Year’s 2010 will be ushered in by traditional countdown “drops” across the nation. Just as New York City has its Times Square Crystal Ball, Panama City Beach in Northwest Fla. will embrace its seaside roots with the second annual Panama City Beach Beach Ball Drop presented by Southwest Airlines. In collaboration with Southwest Airlines and hosted by Pier Park, Panama City Beach’s Beach Ball Drop event represents what the destination is all about — white sand beaches, family togetherness and just plain fun.

Emerald Coast Cruizin Photo and Video RECAP

This year’s Emerald Coast Cruizin Event was a huge success with thousands of hotrods, ratrods, classics and muscle cars that covered the festive grounds of Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach.  At the beginning of the week, there was a weather scare with Tropical Depression Ida rolling through, but the weather cleared up and produced a weekend that would be difficult to match any other time of year.  The air was cool, skies blue and spirits great as the paint glowed as people ogled over the “tons of pretty stuff.”

Emerald Coast Cruizin's Expectin 4,000 Cars, Perfect Weather PICTURES

After a lousy three days, this morning awoke with a perfectly deep blue sky speckled with cute, fluffy white clouds and the sound of chunky V-8’s rumbling down Back Beach Road on their way to register for this weekends Emerald Coast Cruizin Classic Car Show.  Held in Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach, this is the fifth year that Emerald Coast Cruizin has come to our beach, and myself as well has thousands from all over the Southeast United States are glad to have perfect weather on the forecast for the rest of the weekend.

Taste of The Beach FLA HUGE Success

Friday night, the second annual Taste of The Beach Panama City Beach edition (properly known as Taste of The Bay) was packed out with wet palettes, hungry bellies and super fancy diggs.  With literally hundreds in attendance, the main boardwalk area of Pier Park was closed off to cars and rang entertainingly with smooth music and relaxed conversational banter.  We gave away 8 tickets and hundreds more were sold online.

11/7/2009 – Ironman Florida

For the 11th year in a row, Ironman Florida brings the race back to the warm Gulf waters of Panama City Beach.  Last year’s event was a blast with many walking (or limping) away with personal best records and Bella Bayliss walking away with the trophy.  This year’s event will start out in the Gulf behind Boardwalk Beach Resort and the final runners at the end of the race will finish their day at Spinnaker Beach club.

11/15/09 – Clean Water Good Vibes Music & Art Festival

Clean water is the cornerstone of our quality of life and our economy here in the Panhandle. Whether it’s surfing, diving, boating, recreational fishing, or the historic tradition of commercial fishing, maintaining clean water is at the heart of each of these endeavors. Surfrider Foundation is to be commended for its continued efforts to educate the public and advocate officials about the importance of clean water so that everyone may continue to use these resources.
