TDC/CVB will be meeting, Tuesday December 14, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. and will be discussing some pretty polarizing topics. Mr. Shannon Posavad, with Collegiate Marketing Group LLC, will be discussing Spring Break efforts for the upcoming season. Mr Rich Law, from Thunder Beach Productions, will talking, you guessed it, Thunder Beach. You don’t want to miss this one.
If you’ve been wondering how the new airport fared over the season, you don’t have to wonder any longer. Mr. Randy Curtis, airport director, will give the board an update on airport numbers and future prospects.
Also, Mr. Jack Bishop will give an update on the Seafood Wine and Music Festival; definitely information you don’t want to miss. See the agenda below:
Tuesday, August 24, the Panama City Beach Tourist Development Council (known around these parts as the TDC) will meet to discuss various invoices to be paid, the possible build of a new Monument Sign, this summer’s bed tax numbers from June and July and a few other things that we’ll report on in greater detail tomorrow.
It’s been a couple of months since they’ve held a TDC meeting, but they’re usually pretty fun. And, we’re always on top of covering them and providing the latest as to what’s happening, live, during the meeting. Instead of cluttering up your Facebook feed with status updates on our page, we’ll hop over to our Twitter feed and post regular updates on what’s happening during the meeting.
For reference, here are the links.

The meeting will be at 9 am and will be held in the Council Room at the City Buildings in Panama City Beach.

As the oil situation has begun to hit Florida shores, worry throughout the panhandle has increased. Lucky for us, Bay County has one of the most coordinated Emergency Services department in the region. This meeting will be about determining the plan of action if oil reaches our shores.
This Tuesday April 13th, 2010 the TDC will be meeting to discuss the marketing campaign with Southwest Airlines. As you can imagine, this will be a topic of great interest as the opening date nears. And speaking of the opening date, there will be discussions about the big party to take place for the airport grand opening.
On a side note, there will be requests to address the board on the topic of spring break. Panama City Beach has been all over the news about balcony falls. You can expect heavy conversation on that.

At this meeting we will learn how successful the new-look Seafood Wine and Music Festival turned out to be. If you attended the event, it seemed as though it was hugely successful, but after all the tickets were counted, how huge was it really and will it translate to a bigger, better event for next year?
