Olive Garden to come to Pier Park

Press Release

More Reasons To Dine and Shop at Pier Park!
– Popular New Eateries and Stores Coming Soon –

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (April 14, 2008)- Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE:SPG), the country’s largest owner, developer and manager of high quality retail real estate, is pleased to announce more exciting concepts for its Pier Park development in Panama City Beach, Fla. today. Pier Park is a 900,000-square-foot open-air regional lifestyle center offering premiere retail, dining and entertainment choices located on 93 acres that covers land from Front Beach Road (at the City Pier) to the heavily traveled Highway 98 (Back Beach Road)

Baja Grill, Guy Harvey’s Island Grill, Olive Garden and Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge will enhance the already burgeoning roster of restaurants at Pier Park. In addition, Paradise Found will join nearly 40 other retailers that are already open for business.

“The addition of these tenants provides more reasons for residents and tourists of the
Panhandle and surrounding areas to shop, dine and enjoy the amenities at Pier Park,” said Felicia Robinson Cook, Pier Park’s director of mall marketing.

Baja Grill’s concept revolves around fresh, contemporary and consistently outstanding Southwestern, Cajun, Caribbean and American cuisines – a unique combination along with outstanding service, fine wines and tempting desserts all served in a stylish, high-energy Tropical design atmosphere.

The goal is to attain harmony of taste, texture, color and aroma with a fine balancing act. The menu features innovative dishes, using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients that illustrate the culture and traditions behind the dynamic menu. Baja Grill is located in the Town Center area and is scheduled to open this summer.

Guy Harvey’s Island Grill, which is scheduled to open this fall in the Boardwalk area, will feature a combination of a restaurant, outside boat bar, and retail store. The restaurant will offer indoor and outdoor dining with a beautiful sunset view of The Gulf of Mexico. The menu and atmosphere will be family friendly, yet suitable for all ages. The décor will consist of saltwater fish tanks, tabletops featuring Guy Harvey’s art, and other nautical-themed accessories. The most noted pieces of décor include an exclusive collection of full fish mounts, which will be available for purchase. Guy Harvey’s Island Shop will be attached to the new restaurant. The store includes a selection of clothing, accessories, gifts, as well as fishing documentaries featuring Guy Harvey himself.

Guy Harvey’s Island Grill will serve a variety of American-style foods including seafood, steaks, pastas, and salads. The prices for most entrees will range between $9.99 and $28.99. As a devoted conservationist, Guy Harvey has insisted that the restaurant will not serve its patrons with specific species of fish from depleted populations, including grouper and billfish. A percentage of all proceeds will go to The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, dedicated to saving the oceans.

“Guy Harvey’s Island Grill is thrilled to be opening the doors to its fourth location at the prestigious Simon Property, Pier Park,” said Megan Bennett, marketing coordinator for Guy Harvey’s Island Grill.

The Olive Garden has a rustic stone exterior, typical of the buildings in the Italian countryside, and an interior accented by Italian imports designed to make the dining experience at Pier Park a tribute to the restaurant’s Italian inspiration. Exposed wood beams, stone and wood accents throughout, support ceilings and terra cotta tile highlight the interior. The bar top is crafted from lava stone, then hand-painted by artisans in Italy with design created exclusively for Olive Garden; vibrant imported fabrics decorate windows and dining seats; hand-painted plates adorn rustic stone and stucco walls; and the lighting fixtures are all distinctly Italian. Most new Olive Garden restaurants have been built in the Tuscan Farmhouse-design since February 2000. The Olive Garden at Pier Park, which will be located off of Highway 98 (Back Beach Road) plans to open in fall 2008.

Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, a Nashville landmark and honky-tonk mecca that has launched the careers of numerous country music stars, is scheduled to open at Pier Park in the Boardwalk shops this spring. In the ’60s, owner “Tootsie” Bess had a soft spot for struggling writers and nurtured the stomachs–and bar tabs–of greats like Roger Miller, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. Today, the purple facade anchors Nashville’s Lower Broadway’s colorful past, and the interior walls are crowded with publicity stills of the greats, the hopefuls and never-wills who came to town chasing dreams. Ultimately, the Pier Park location will earn a similar reputation with exciting musical guests.

Paradise Found, an upscale beach wear and resort wear shop, will open this spring in a 6,000 square foot store at Pier Park in the Boardwalk area. Shoppers will find a wide selection of bathing suits, shorts, t-shirts, boogie boards and souvenirs. This will be the first Paradise Found store in NW Florida with other locations in Key West and Miami Beach.

“Pier Park is going to draw a lot of people,” said Paradise Found’s owner, Joseph Cohen. “It will be a destination point. I believe Pier Park will be like a different country within the city of Panama City Beach and it will draw the customers that we want.”
