Tonight is the last performance from the Pier Park summer concert series for 2010! To end this season with a bang, local band Heartbeat City will perform their upbeat 80’s pop style sounds – and will no doubt have the whole place up and dancing as they did recently at Friday Fest in downtown Panama City! According to the band themselves, there will be some exciting surprises in store for tonight’s concert, so be sure to bring your blanket or lawn chair, and grab a spot close to the stage!

The Pier Park Concert Series is a great event for our area. Thanks to all who make it happen! I recently had friends come over from Destin just for the concert. I would recommend that the ‘powers that be’ consider extending the series through September and October. The weather begins to cool, and the nights are fantastic for this venue. Also, most all the attendees are locals so attendance shouldn’t be a problem. I am friends with members of 3 different bands (Pop, Christian and Bluegrass) that would put on a great show!!!

I AGREE. WE GO EVERY WEEK AND IT IS ALSO A REVENUE BOOSTER FOR THE RESTAURANTS AND RETAILERS AT PIER PARK. WE EAT THERE EVERY WEEK BEFORE THE CONCERT AND I KNOW MANY OTHERS DO AS WELL. IT WOULD BE NICE TO EXPAND THE CONCERT SERIES. MOST PEOPLE OUT THERE ARE LOCALS.
