Beach Party Weekend
For the dancers and anybody who’s looking for the real beach experience: Beginning Thursday at Boardwalk Beach Resort on Thomas Drive, Free Shag lessons, dancing at a re-creation of the Hangout – all this continues Friday and Saturday. Saturday night, a dance in the ballroom – smoke free, beginning at 7 p.m. bop and shag and slow dance until Midnight. Tickets $70 at the door and you MUST be 21 to attend!
Kaleidoscope Theatre presentation of Steel Magnolias
Worth the trip- I’ve never left the Kaleidoscope Theatre without wondering how we here can put on a show like we do, and KT’s presentation of Steel Magnolias will be no exception. Laughs are guaranteed, but I wouldn’t forget my Kleenex, either. Opens Friday, October 15, 2010 at 7:30 PM Shows Saturday night at 7:30, and Sunday at 2:00 p. m. Madonnaro Italian Street Painting
Italy on the Gulf? See an Italian tradition- street painting called “Madonnari” because the subject was typically the Madonna. Today subjects are unlimited, and so is the imagination! You won’t believe your eyes- Oct 15- 16th Located in Downtown Panama City at the Visual Arts Center.
Barkiní on the Bay, Bay Point Marina
The Humane Society of Bay County presents the Sixth Annual Barkiní on the Bay – fun for you and your pup! Like a dog show, but better – you’ll be enjoying the ambience of Bay Point Marina. Starting at 9 Saturday morning, see a dock diving contest, a look-alike contest, agility and frisbee demonstrations, a search and rescue K-9 demonstration. Children are free, pets welcome and an adult suggested $5 donation. For more information go to adoptme.org.
Zumbathon for Breast Cancer Awareness
It may be cool, but Rock’It Lanes in the Shoppes at Edgewater has the hottest Zumba Instructors ready to fire it up for Breast Cancer awareness, and you get the benefit! A perfect way to start off your Saturday morning: At 9:30, a $5 donation gets you in for a great workout AND the first 100 participants get incredibly awesome s.w.a.g. bags full of goodies from local sponsors! All proceeds benefit The Breast Cancer Research FoundationÆ.
The Grasscutters Bluegrass Band
On Sunday, October 17, 2010, at 7:30 PM, hear some excellent fall sounds from the Grasscutters Bluegrass Band. Near historic St. Andrews across the street from Oakland Terrace Park, the Grasscutters will be at St. Andrews Methodist Church on 2001 W. 11th Street, Panama City. $5 donation for adults at the door, and children are free.
