This year’s first annual Grand Lagoon Christmas Boat Parade traveled down Grand Lagoon Saturday night decked with lights, a Santa Clause and holiday cheer. 9 boats participated this year in what was being called a “trial-run”. There was no entry fee, but next year event organizers said they were planning on raising money for a local charity.
The boats staged at the Bay Point Marina, some with their lights on as early as 5:30 pm. The captains prepped their gear and set said at 6:30 pm sharp. Once they left the marina, they made their way out, past the Bay Point townhomes and into the lagoon, heading west.
Here are some of the pictures we shot, along with a time-lapse video that I put together.

For the video, I shot 3.5 second exposures on a 5 second interval. I think my iso was set to around 2000. The unfortunate part about the rather long intervals is that the final video ended up being pretty short – hence the name: The 8 Second Boat Parade. The parade itself was probably 30 minutes. I hope you enjoy the video.
thanks for the video. could you please get close up next time.
