It’s that time again, the one day of the year when it’s universally acceptable to let our inner sentimentalist out to play.
It’s the proper occasion to get all decked out in something red and possibly glitzy, then rush around trying to find, buy or liberate flowers for those we love (or like, or at the very least, tolerate) a little more then others.
For me, Valentines Day usually involves a futile (but good-hearted) attempt to utilize the excessive amount of art supplies we have laying around our house, then proceed to create some semblance of a home-made valentines card for my Husband. Since, hey– it’s the thought that counts right?
So what if that thought is now buried under 10 layers of glitter, and covered with-in an inch of it’s life by an over-zealous doily application?
Lasting Love stays, no matter how much glitter is forever embedded in the carpet.
Valentines Day traditions vary from person to person, but if you’re like many, a night on the town might be your cuppa tea.
Top Five Things To Do
Excellent ambiance, incredible food and extensive wine list. You supply the flowers (or Snoopy Valentine, whatever) and you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the night with your special one.
This is one of those places that’s special no matter what the occasion. Warm and inviting, with a menu crafted to match the atmospheres understated elegance. The menu is focused around locally caught fish, imported exotic fish, and seasonal vegetables. I don’t know about you, but just writing that sentence reduced me to a drooling, unsightly mess that only Homer Simpson could top. An additional point of interest here: when President Obama and his family were in town, this is where they dined. Personal politics aside, you have to admit that’s a pretty useful conversation starter.
The Romance Package includes: 2 Nights accommodations in a Studio or 1 Bedroom at Shores of Panama, a bonfire on the Beach behind Shores of Panama, Couples Massage, Bottle of Sparkling Wine, $50.00 gift card for dinner at Boatyard or Schooners, Early check-in at noon and late check-out at 4PM. The Romance package is available during the dates of 2/11 – 2/15 for a 2 night stay. They had me at bonfire and massage.

Don’t laugh, staying home has it’s romantic perks too. You control the menu, the ambiance and of course, the budget. As an added bonus, if the kids act up you won’t have to suddenly scramble to change your dinner order from dining-in, to “please throw it in a to-go container asap.” Glitter, optional. Comfy Jammies, a must.
