The new fire station that’s being built on the West End of Panama City Beach is making progress. Construction is looking closer to completion and everything is really taking shape. It looks like they have a roof on the main part and are putting in the structure for the roof over the garage bays.
The new fire station is scheduled for completion by this summer.
The new 11,000 square foot station will have a full kitchen, 6 dorm rooms, a two bay garage, ample parking and a huge driveway that will be plenty large enough to wash the trucks when they aren’t being used. So far, they are under budget and ahead of schedule.
I’m kind of curious as to why they didn’t make it a combined police and fire station, it would be quite an upgrade from the little police station trailer that is nearby.

That is wonderful news…… progress has came a long way since the last report you gave to us on the new Fire Station. I can’t wait until we are down there in June with our family to actually drive by & have a look see!
From the picture here, looks like great progress to me. And the fact that being “under budget” is amazing! Nowadays hardly nothing is kept in an under-budget state…. it always seems to over-exceed charges & quotes given. So, I’d say this is a blessing.
As far as what the gentleman (PCB Rob) asked above….. I really don’t think I have ever seen a combo Fire Hall/Police Station although I am sure there are some but, possibly in smaller towns not as large as PCB. Even in the small town of Ashland City, Tenn. where I am located we have separate police & fire stations they are not together. I cannot imagine what the cost associated with combining these two would be.
Anyway Jason, thank you for the nice up-date on the Fire Station.
Keep up the good work!
As always in my own opinion…….

I have a son that just got out of the Airforce as a firefighter-does someone know where he can apply for a job at the new fire Station? Thanks

Hi Mark……
I’m quite sure that if you check with your City Hall officials they can lead you in the right direction.

Depending on if it is county run or not – if it is BayCo Fire then check the Bay County Government website. If your son does not care to deploy – he ought to look into DoD Contracting overseas… It is great money – just away from home. It is what I am doing currently…
