Spring is in the air, and all across town our community is coming alive. Everyday, you can literally feel people shaking off remnants of winter while rubbing the sleep from their eyes.
There’s one thing about life in a beach town that you can always count on, once the weather turns warmer and we get a chance to feel the sunshine on our skin again, we’re certainly a more chipper bunch.
Along with the changes in atmosphere, comes a welcome burst of events happening across Bay County.
Weekend Events for Feb 18-20
Friday, Feb 18: Corks N’ Canvases, 6pm-10pm
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida will be hosting Corks N’ Canvases so come out to taste some of the area’s best wines and win your favorite art pieces during the silent auction.
All while enjoying some tasty Boatyard hors d’oeuvres.
Friday- Sunday, Feb 18-20: Greater Tuna
A romp of a comedy in which two men play all the inhabitants of Tuna, (men, women, children, and animals), one of the smallest towns in Texas. A past 22nd Season (1992-1993) production, it offers withering satire, as well as heart-warming homage to small-town Southern life and characters. This first of a trilogy on Lone Star lunatics is always a sure-fire audience pleaser.
Saturday, Feb 19: Ray Walker & Todd Herendeen
The original deep voice behind Elvis performs with Todd Herendeen & His FTD Band. This bands musical history reads like a play list from some of my favorite albums of all time. From recording back-ground vocals with the King himself, to Patsy Cline- this is one of those nights that you have to make an effort to check out.
