Pier Park Mardi Gras- A Festive Success!

The weekend has left us, but in its wake remain a million great memories and countless beads.

The 3rd Annual Pier Park Mardi Gras, hosted by the Krewe of Dominique Youx has outdone itself again.

Hundreds of people swarmed Pier Park, vying for parking and hot spots along the parade route.  Even the gloomy weather couldn’t damper the crowd’s spirited merry-making despite its best attempts. Everywhere you looked, there were hordes of people celebrating the event, armed with Funnel Cake or assorted goodies from the accompanying vendors.

Spring Break is gathering momentum, and the events are popping up everywhere.

This week offers everything from Scottish Games, to swing dancing at Gulf World. If swing dancing isn’t your style, then don’t panic. Just a few miles down, you can shimmy it to just about anything, Luke Bryan, MIMS and numerous impromptu beach dance parties.

Weekend Weather- Spring is Here!

Well, Spring is officially here and by all means,  ask me how I know this. Go on, ask.

My reasoning behind that bold claim, is that  you can always tell when spring has arrived through this single, tell-tale sign.

There’s a gradual influx of college kids making out on the beach and an entire village of lizards mating on my porch.

If that doesn’t scream Spring Season, then I don’t know what does.
