The Beckrich Road portion of the CRA is making huge strides in progress. The new side was paved this week and curb work was installed. I think we’ll be driving on it in the next couple of weeks as they redo the old side.
The groundbreaking for the Beckrich Road portion of the Front Beach Road CRA in Panama City Beach was on September 4th, 2007. Total construction time is expected to be less than 24 months. The cost of construction is around $10 million and includes Beckrich Road from Back Beach Road to Front Beach Road.
In addition to four lanes of roadway, turn lanes, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, storm water retention ponds and landscaping will be added. Also, new traffic signals will be installed along with updated signage and pavement markings.
Jason,
Is there any way that you could post smaller pictures? I usually access your blog at work, and the computer here is waaay slow. It took like two and a half minutes for the first picture on this post to load.

I’m terribly sorry about this. I’ll try to get these pictures more optimized in the future so that they will load faster.

Just an update..The new side of Beckrich opened today! Sadly I was riding on it on the way out of town. I guess they will be starting on the other side and it should be finished before you know it…

I actually met with Ben Faust with DRMP today and will have an update posted later this week. They did open the new side, and the old side will begin the reconstruction process quickly.
