I find it interesting that the Panama City Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau is soliciting for a new web site vendor. They apparently are seeking to replace VisitPanamaCityBeach.com with something new. Currently, I beleive, Y Partnership is the vendor handling the site development and hosting.
Unfortunately I don’t have much more detail than that at this time, but at 9:30 I’ll be attending a meeting that should tell more about what is going on.
Here is the form that they are sending out.
I was at the meeting, but unfortunately it wasn’t much more than a discussion on the RFQ that is linked above.
Talking with Dan Rowe, the President of the TDC, he said it was time to redo the website. It has been my experience that a website needs to be rebuilt every 18 to 24 months, at a minimum. Technology and web design trends change so rapidly and the public relies so heavily on a dominant web presence to find information that letting a web site fall out of date can be devastating.
Even with pcbdaily, I’m in the process of another complete redesign so as to take advantage of some of the many features that have come available over the last several months.
YPartnership is expected to bid along with several other high-profile agencies. The process with be arduous and will take some time, but the final result should be fantastic. I look forward to being a part of this process.
The RFQ above is a ROUGH version, when I get the final version, I’ll post it.
