18 Free Tickets to the Panama City Beach Seafood, Wine and Music Festival

This weekend the Panama City Beach Seafood, Wine and Music Festival is rocking the town with awesome bands such as Styx and Grand Funk Railroad bringing hits like Mr. Roboto and We’re an American Band.  This is the second year the event has been run by a few local business men striving to make this the greatest event in Panama City Beach.

This year’s event brings the same great organization as last year, but tons more value.

Part of our media sponsorship this year includes our receiving 18 general admission tickets to give away to you that are good for free admission for any one day.  So, here we go.  Since giveaways are so awesome, post a comment below telling us your favorite song from Styx or Grand Funk Railroad or what you are most excited about this festival and you could win 2 free tickets to the Panama City Beach Seafood, Wine and Music Festival.

  3. Jason,
This will be our first time visiting this event…I hear its a pretty cool thing. We have been traveling to PCB for over 25 years. During the 80’s and 90’s it brings back fond memories of the road trips to the beach listing to the radio and tapes. We recently purchased a condo in PCB in mid August and Love it here. Just getting familiar with special events and all…It would be great to have free tickets for the event. This would make for wonderful Welcome to Panama City Beach home warming gift…Lol. We will be traveling from Nashville, Tn our primary residence on Thursday evening.

  4. Please enter me for free tickets for the seafood festival. Grand Funk Railroad, the most criminally under appreciated rock band in history!!! In my early career as a musician we all learned as many songs by Grand Funk as we did by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Grand Funk’s music was as popular as Creedence but never got the same recognition. My favorite song by them is Foot Stompin’ Music.
Kudos to the festival for getting a variety of musical styles this year!
Jason, if it helps I read your emails every week!

  5. While Styx and GFR are awesome, I am more excited about the food. Being new members to the PCB community, we are very excited about this event. We actually travel ~8 hours one way every month and we intentionally timed it so we could attend this event. Winning free tickets would be icing on the crab cake.

    Thanks,

  6. I LOVE PCB!! I am an English Bulldog that is very thankful for my private beach at Pier Park. I have found that Pier Park is the most pet-friendly area in the entire deep south. I have never been to this festival and I am not sure if pets are welcome, but I would really love to win tickets for the adults. They would really be surprised and I would like to thank them for all they do for me. This would be my repayment for the thousands of doggie treats they have given to me. Thanks for thinking of me and my family for the tickets. Hope to hear from you soon.

  7. When I was a wee younger lad I listened to Styx. “Fooling Yourself” always reminds me of Disney World, you know, at night when that magical Electric Lights Parade emerged with a harmony of synthesizer notes engulfing you in bliss that can’t be described. Who can do better then remembering Disney World like that while at the same time listening to STYX…and while slappin’ da bass….If it’s good enough for Paul Rudd, it’s good enough for me.

  8. My favorite Styx song when I was in nursing school was The Best of Times. In fact, I used a line from one of their songs for the quote under my picture in my nursing school yearbook.

“Our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime. We’ll take the best, forget the rest and someday we’ll find…these are the best of times.” How true!!

By the way…I still have the yearbook.. Clara Maass School of Nursing class of ’84…lol

  9. I was there in ’69 ( and before ). We rode on the songs of The Grand Funk Railroad who brought us out of a tough time with Viet Nam with some great hits like “I’m Your Captain”, “Words of Wisdom and “Get It Together”. 10 years, later Styx were the new kids on the block and finally nailed down a name that stuck. The new Styx keep the originals alive! It would be nice to hear them again.

    Thanks

  15. The best thing I can think of about the wine and seafood festival is it is in beautiful Panama City Beach. Unfortunately I am not, but I will be come Saturday. I know the logistics of the pickup will exclude me from the giveaway, but if that’s the worst thing I have to complain about when I’m coming down for a much anticipated vacation then life is indeed good. Can’t wait to get there. I hope the festival is a huge success and selfishly that the weather will be great. Love October at the beach!!!

  17. What I am most excited about this years Seafood, Music and Wine festival is the celebration by Bay County to the welcome of fall and the goodbye to summer! This festival will showcase the best of
Bay County and our local surrounding area counties excellent food, crafts, arts, music and wine!
Bay County and Panama City Beach will proudly exhibit and promote activities and excitement…just because the sunsets earlier and the crowds have diminished…our beaches offer so much for
all visitors and locals of all ages!

What a grand way to celebrate the bountiful harvest of excellent seafood, talented artisans and gifted musicians..all in one venue! Welcome!

  19. The first album I ever bought was Cosmo’s Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival. The second was Survival by Grand Funk Railroad. I think that was around ’70 or ’71.

Survival had a great version of the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter”, which I hope to hear Sunday night. GFR were the loudest band around at that time and that’s how I listened to that record. Unfortunately, my first (cheap) stereo didn’t survive.

I love that the festival has opened up to more genre’s than the old festival that seemed to be only country. This years line-up is the best so far!

  26. I am SO stoked that Styx is coming to town (again)! It is difficult to pick a “favorite” Styx song as they are all wonderful, but “Suite Madam Blue” is a classic and so is “The Best of Times.” These two songs written over 20 years ago remain relevant, perhaps even more so today, in the wake of 09/11 and everything our country has been going through… The other thing I am very excited about is the wine tasting. We are really looking forward to Saturday. We already have tix, but if we win, we will donate the free tix to deserving persons.

Sea food is one of our favorites in addition to Grad Funk Railroad. I think one of their best songs would exress my most sincere feelings if I were lucky enough to win two tickets… it would be: I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE. A great song and one often used when showing sports teams wiing the big game on TV.

Would love to come to PCB for some seafood, the wine and great entertainment.

I used to go to the bowling alley and watch him play solo in the lounge. He played on Friday and Saturday nights to a crowd of about 10 to 15 people. Of course he wasn’t famous then, but boy was he good. This was about 40 years ago. I am so excited to be going to PCB to hear him plan again. I am a big Styx fan and hope to win those free tickets. My favorite song is Lady.

As I lay in my hospital room looking out the window at the BIG FULL MOON the radio was playing “I’m your Captain” by Grand Funk Railroad. Whenever I hear that song now I always think back to 1974 and “my little captain” I had just given birth too.
