Huge Southwest Inflatable Balloon coming to Pier Park

Bring your cameras and excitement, because along with Vertical Horizon and 7,000 inflated beach balls being dropped with the kids, the New Year’s Eve event at Pier Park will have the huge inflatable Southwest Airlines Jet blown up for the kiddies to smile at and the parents to take pictures.

We have no idea just how big this inflatable plane is, but judging by the pictures we’ve been able to find online (which isn’t many), we’d say it’s about the size of a very large full sized van.  It looks pretty big.  Should definitely be a fun thing to be around.

It was mentioned before the hugeness of the New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop at Pier Park, what with Vertical Horizon coming, Southwest Airlines being the presenting sponsor and a culmination at 8:30 pm for the kids that will result in 7,000 inflated beach balls being dropped on the streets of Pier Park. Last year’s event was enormous and well attended.  And if you think last year’s event was great, wait until you see this year – we’re guessing double the people and twice the action.

The event starts at 5:30 and ends sometime after midnight.  Be there or be square!

  1. “Southwest Airlines Jet blown up for the kiddies”…. sounds like fun!!

Seriously, I’m so glad to see Southwest getting involved so fast in the community. They are a fantastic company and will be a perfect fit to our beach community. The employees love to work at Southwest and passengers love to fly with them. Southwest has a youthful and fun spirit about them which is a rarity in today’s business. Panama City Beach has a youthful and fun spirit too. What a perfect match. Welcome, Southwest Airlines, to the best secret in the USA!!
