Escape to Pier Park in Panama City Beach this weekend for the Bons Temps Rouler Pirate Festival; a magical world of music, entertainment, parades, and fun…suitable for adventurers of all ages. The festival begins on Thursday, July 22nd with New Orleans premier bass player, George Porter Jr. in concert with the Runnin’ Pardners at Aaron Bessant Park. Then the July 23rd and 24th festival hosted by the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau promises a swashbuckling good time for Panama City Beach visitors and locals alike. Come join us mates…It’s all about family fun at Panama City Beach, it’s free to the public, and it’s sure to be a jolly good time!
Friday, July 23rd – Set sail on the excitement Friday night at the Panama City Beach City Pier…. as “the good times roll” with the bluesy, soulful beats of renowned Louisiana musician, Eric Lindell at 6:00 pm. Bring your chairs, blankets and the family to enjoy this good ole’ fashioned beach bash. As night falls, you can walk the plank to Aaron Bessant Park to catch the outdoor movie “Hook”, a magical movie of action, thrills, and comedy… a perfect way to end the evening!
Saturday, July 24th – Grab your lads, lassies and furry friends and dress them up in their best pirate regalia to “invade” or just enjoy the Pirate Parade at Pier Park. You can join the parade and walk the route by meeting up with the Krewe on Powell Adams Road (adjacent to Target) at 3:45 pm…if you want to lead your pirate clad canines in the parade, rendezvous at Ron Jon’s Surf Shop. Just find your spot on Pier Park Drive to view the extravaganza beginning at 4:00 pm.
The revelry continues with Captain Mark Flynn and his sand sculpture creation on Pier Park Beach; where would-be pirates will become a part of his interactive creations! At 5:30 pm you can swagger over to the Pier Park Promo Area where prospective pirates (and pooches) of all ages will compete in a costume contest. Win the contest and win the “booty”!
Alas…the Treasure Hunt for the wee little mates (ages 2-12) from 6:00 pm– 7:30 pm. Take the kids to Pier Park Beach to find coins, doubloons and hidden treasures. (Limit 1 coin per child) See the pirate at the cart to join in the fun.
Bring your crew back to land to end the day at the Pier Park Promo Area where you can to listen to the zesty zydeco music of Heat and the Zydeco Gents at 7:00 pm, followed by the soulful sounds of Donnie Sundal just after the fireworks at 9:00 pm.

Was there for the parade and everything. Was so damn impressed at how well it was and how long the parade was. Please do it again next year. Lots of fun!!!
