Haunting Halloween Fun on Panama City Beach

Find your favorite scary costume and a bag for all your goodies because Halloween festivities are in full effect starting this week on Panama City Beach. Here is a list of things you can do to enjoy the season and the spookiest holiday of the year.

Scarecrow Festival ~ October 20-30

Get into the Halloween spirit! Starting on October 20th, scarecrows will start appearing in the Historic St. Andrews community in preparation for the 2nd Annual Scarecrow Festival on Saturday, October 30th in Oaks by the Bay Park. Scarecrows entered in the contest will be placed along Beck Avenue and public spaces from October 20th – October 30th. During this time, scarecrows will be scored by our judges and by popular vote. Visit the website for entry information. On October 30th, at the Scarecrow Festival in Oaks by the Bay Park, we will announce the winners in each category and award prizes. Haunted Trail & Pumpkin Patch ~ October 22-23

The event will be open to the public from 4pm until 9:30pm both nights. The Haunted Trail will be open for victims, uh, we mean “visitors” at dark. This fun, family-oriented event gives every family member, regardless of age, a great way to celebrate the season, from the Pumpkin Patch and the Peek-A-Boo Trail and Scaredy Cat Run for the youngest ones, to the Creepy Cabins and the Haunted Trail for the older ones. A costume contest runs both nights of the event and is one of the largest children’s costume contests in Bay County! New this year, a group costume contest and a crazy hair contest! Maze of Terror – October 22-23 & 28-31

Not for small children or the faint hearted! Over 6000sq ft. of hear stopping horror! 7:00 pm till the last victim is found, $15 per person. Located in Pier Park at 701 Pier Park Dr. Suite 107. Visit Pier Park

Pet Costume Contest – October 23

Everyone is invited to join Bay County in celebrating the grand opening of the Everitt Avenue Dog Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 with a doggy costume contest and prizes, free pet microchipping and treats for everyone. The two-acre, off-leash park is located in the community of Cedar Grove at 1137 Everitt Ave. and features an unleashing area, lots of parking, picnic tables, fencing around the perimeter, watering stations, cleanup facilities and lots of shaded areas. It opens at dawn and closes at dusk. The Everitt Avenue facility is the second dog park opened by Bay County. Visit Bay Co.

Haunted Hay Ride ~ October 28-30

It’s almost Halloween, and for those looking for a fun, family-friendly activity, Bay County Parks and Recreation has a spooky solution. For the first time ever, Bay County will host a Haunted Hay Ride at H.G. Harder’s Park from 7-10 p.m. each night Oct. 28, 29 and 30. The terrifying trek will begin at the wooden bridge at the front of the park, traveling along the park’s walking trail and into the woods – with some 20 scary sites stationed along the path. In addition to the hay ride, visitors can enjoy game booths, vendors and candy for the kids, and on Oct. 30 parents are encouraged to bring their children to the Pumpkin Patch, a free, fun alternative to trick or treating. Admission for the hay ride is $3 for adults, $2 for children (children under 6 are admitted for free), with all proceeds benefitting the Relay for Life. H.G. Halloween Dance ~ October 29

The Panama City Beach Senior Center will be holding a Halloween dance. Dance to your favorite CD’s. Lots of fun and games: Fortune Telling Treasure Hunt. Tickets are available for purchase at the Cypress House or at the door for $7. Light refreshments will be served BYOB with setups available. Halloween at Schooners ~ October 29

Schooners, the last local beach club, has become something of a Halloween tradition. Everybody turns up to see the scary decorations that get crazier every year, bats, monsters, ghosts, witches, lights, fog, coffins, tombstones, and that’s just on the outside! Friday, Halloween Eve there will be the Great Jack O Lantern Carving Contest! Kids and grownups alike are invited to bring their most creative carved pumpkins from home between 6-8pm for a chance to win great prizes! On Halloween is the annual Schooners Halloween Bash! Annual Halloween Spooktacular ~ October 30

It’s the annual Halloween Spooktacular at Borders! Kids ages 3 to 8 are invited to join in on the fun! We’ll read scary stories, play spooky games, do a creepy craft and top it all off with a terrifying parade! Costumes are encouraged! Starts 11:00am. Visit Borders

Toys for Kids Halloween Bash ~ October 30

Spinnaker Beach Club will host the annual Toys for Kids Foundation Halloween Bash – The theme for this spook-tacular event is “Rise of Isabella.” This annual event benefits the Toys for Kids Foundation’s goal of helping children in Bay County that may not be able to have a pleasant holiday season, and is one of several events held throughout the year that benefits the organization. ZooBoo ~ October 30

Dress your kids up in their spookiest costume and head over to ZooWorld for some fun entertainment! ZooBoo is offering trick-or-treating from 4:30pm to 8pm with the last admittance to the park at 7:30pm. Costume contests for kids through age 15! Visit ZooWorld

Malloween ~ October 30

Trick or Treating through Pier Park! Also offering Halloween Science Lab and drawing winner of costume contests for the kids. 6 pm to 7 pm.

Halloween Carnival ~ October 30

There will be a Halloween carnival at Sheffield Park from 5:30-8:30pm. Visit City of Lynn Haven
