Pier Park Pier – Bait, Tackle Shop and Cafe Coming this Summer

Last summer our white sand beaches were blessed with a new pier.  The Russell Fields Pier was returned to us after a few years of damaged use.  The pier was open just in time for the Fourth of July celebrations, but it wasn’t done.  There was still something missing.

The arrival experience was still broken.  We had a beautiful pier, but in order to get to it, we had to walk around a chain link fence and crushed rock paths.  Well folks, that was all temporary AND necessary for us to enjoy the finished product that will open at the beginning of summer this year.

An Update on the Newly Opened Miracle Strip at Pier Park

It started out in 2008 as just the original carousel from the bygone Miracle Strip Amusement Park being brought to Pier Park as a piece of nostalgia. Fast forward two years and with several more rides now being restored to their former glory and proudly sitting in their new home, the spirit and joy of Miracle Strip can once again be experienced in Panama City Beach. Southwest Unveils New "Florida One" Plane

This is straight from the Southwest Blog!

“IT’S HERE! We kept it under wraps as long as we could, but today I’m so excited to announce the unveiling of Florida One–a Boeing 737 emblazoned with an artist’s rendering of the state flag.  Florida One has been secreted away in a private hanger somewhere in the state of Louisiana this week, so I can speak for a lot of people when I say we are so ready to finally show it off!  Southwest kicked off the event with a press conference in a Tampa International Airport hangar with our CEO Gary Kelly, National Wildlife Refuge Association’s President Evan Herche, and Southwest’s Florida-based Employees. Business Expo Under The Big Top A Raucus Good Time

This years business expo, held at The Boardwalk Beach Resort, was filled with circus clowns, mimes and lots of kids and business owners having a great time. Everyone was dressed to the nines, even our very own Chamber of Commerce president Beth Oltman (see photo) was dressed in the spirit of the evening. Aisles of businesses owners gave out all sorts of free stuff—shout out to Felecia at Simon for the free movie ticket for my near-perfect bean-bag toss–and PCBDaily will shot 30 seconds of fame spots that we will be airing later this week. It was a great time. Check the juggling videos, specifically the first one; the impromptu robot about 25 seconds in. Good times.

Seabreeze Jazz Festival: Changing PCB's Image?

It was a difficult task to try and top last year’s Seabreeze Jazz Festival as the event took Panama City Beach by storm, filling hotel rooms and branding our great city with a favorable image. There was a lot of hype coming into 2010 and this years event not only lived up to the hype but could have very well been a better overall event than 2009. If you missed the show, you missed a something special. Continue reading “Seabreeze Jazz Festival: Changing PCB's Image?”
