Taste of the Bay's 'Taste The Beach'

Wineries and restaurants both local and from all over the country could be found Friday night at Taste The Beach in Pier Park. It began at 5:30 p.m. with wine enthusiasts starting out at the front of the 3 tents. Each tent had at least 20 different wines that could be enjoyed and multiple food stations where places like Bone Fish Grill was serving Ahi Tuna and Dee’s Hang Out was serving Jambalaya.

Panama City Beach Dining Review – Fatty Patty’s Cakes & Café

Every once in a while, I stumble upon a restaurant or eatery of some description that impresses me so much I feel compelled to share. This time, it’s Fatty Patty’s Cakes & Café, located on the west end of Panama City Beach Parkway close to the Wild Heron. Fatty Patty’s is half bakery, half café, and though some may be familiar with the name synonymous with wedding cakes, not everyone knows that this is actually a really cool little place to eat, too. Locals Favorite Pizza Place – Panama Pizzeria

If you want some good local Italian food, you’ve got to check out Panama Pizzeria, formerly Joey’s on the Beach II.  This quaint pizza joint is located at the Y of Highway 79 and Front Beach Road and is perfect for a quiet date night, watching the game or taking your baseball team for a treat after taking the win.

I’ve eaten there a number of times in the past and have always enjoyed the fun atmosphere, good service and delicious food.  Of course, what’s more is the affordable price.  You can usually get in and out of there fur less than $12 for lunch for two.

One of the funnest aspects was the traditional style by which the food is prepared, namely the high tosses of the pizza dough.  This was a show to enjoy.  With several TV adorning the walls, this is a great place to catch the game and a cold beer.

Another cool thing is that they’ll put just about anything you want on a pizza.  I had a supreme and my wife got a vegetarian special with broccoli and all.

The food was great, the atmosphere fun and good times were had by all.

Please Help Displaced Treasure Ship Employees

Earlier this week we may have lost a Panama City Beach icon, The Treasure Ship Restaurant.  Wednesday afternoon much of the exterior and an unknown portion of the interior was destroyed by fire leaving 100 plus employees unemployed literally in one afternoon.  With the quick onset of the tourism season, this leaves many families wondering what they’ll do to make it by this summer.

Click the read more link for how you can help and pictures of the burned Treasure Ship Restaurant.
