The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA), in conjunction with the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau and Hess Entertainment, today is pleased to present Country Music superstar Clint Black – Live in Concert – at Pier Park in Panama City Beach, Florida.  The concert will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. CST and is free to the public.  Pier Park, 600 Pier Park Drive, is conveniently located between the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches and Back Beach Road in the heart of Panama City Beach, Florida.

Fitness & Wellness Expert to Speak at Women’s Symposium

On Friday, October 22, the Panama City Beach Chamber is hosting The 2010 Women’s Work-Life Symposium at FSU-Panama City. This all-day affair features a lineup of professional, female speakers who will help Attendees explore practical solutions and strategies for creating a healthy work-life balance.

Among the Symposium speakers is fitness & wellness expert Debbie Siebers, creator of several well-known video programs for global wellness conglomerate Beachbody. Haunting Halloween Fun on Panama City Beach

Scarecrow Festival ~ October 20-30

Get into the Halloween spirit! Starting on October 20th, scarecrows will start appearing in the Historic St. Andrews community in preparation for the 2nd Annual Scarecrow Festival on Saturday, October 30th in Oaks by the Bay Park. Scarecrows entered in the contest will be placed along Beck Avenue and public spaces from October 20th – October 30th. During this time, scarecrows will be scored by our judges and by popular vote. Visit the website for entry information. On October 30th, at the Scarecrow Festival in Oaks by the Bay Park, we will announce the winners in each category and award prizes. Beach Party Weekend

For the dancers and anybody who’s looking for the real beach experience:  Beginning Thursday at Boardwalk Beach Resort on Thomas Drive, Free Shag lessons, dancing at a re-creation of the Hangout – all this continues Friday and Saturday.  Saturday night, a dance in the ballroom – smoke free, beginning at 7 p.m. bop and shag and slow dance until Midnight.  Tickets $70 at the door and you MUST be 21 to attend!

If you’re in the market for a kayak, Sunjammers Watersports in Panama City Beach is the place to go.  There are few others that sell kayaks in the area, but during the summer 2010, they sold 40% what they sold in the summer of 2009 – and kayak sales is their bread and butter.  Luckily, low overhead and a diversified selling strategy allowed them to keep their doors open.  The BP Effect was clear and present for Sunjammers this summer.  Not only were kayak sales way down, other aspects of their business they were growing saw a fraction of the growth they were expecting.
