Secrets of PCB – Camp Helen State Park

Panama City Beach can appeal to anyone year round.  Beyond the high-rises and Thomas Drive, there are lots of places that are not as well known, but are just as fantastic.  This first in the Secrets of PCB series is a magical, but not well known place called Camp Helen State Park.  Camp Helen, a state park located a few minutes’ drive West from Panama City Beach is quite a find.

What a weekend to be outdoors in Panama City Beach;  it’s really too cold to stay in Atlanta or Birmingham.  You can still wear your cozy jacket, and pick up a new pair of boots while you’re here – we really do have them – cozy and cute.  We also have unparalleled stargazing, the first ever Boat Parade on Grand Lagoon, and clear skies to enjoy the glittering white sands or all of the glittering one of a kind gift hunting here.

In years past, we’ve all made the journey across the Hathaway Bridge to view the spectacle of the St. Andrew’s Boat Parade.  This parade on the water features boats of all sizes, big and small, adorned with Christmas lights and holiday cheer.  This year, you can save yourself a trip across the bridge and enjoy our very own boat parade on Panama City Beach.

Thanks to the Readers of PCBDaily

This holiday season we wanted to thank you for your continued support of PCBDaily over the years.  We’ve grown tremendously since we started blogging about Panama City Beach in September of 2006, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

This time last year, we were talking about the airport and the runway extension, offered some tasty suggestions for Thanksgiving dinner, and the elimination of the Y at Highway 79 and Front Beach Road.  Interestingly enough, in 2008 we talked about Black Friday deals (Target didn’t open until 6 am), a free movie at The Grande, Seahaven auction details, and an airport construction update video.  In 2007, we were talking about the TDC, condo sales being down, and mortgage rates hitting a six month low.

We have some exciting content planned for 2011 and tons of great ideas coming up.  Tell us some of the things you’d like to hear about in the comments below.
