New Airport STOMPS Old Airport Numbers [REPORT]

Northwest Florida International Airport is always a fun topic. Everyone loves to talk about it, read about it and quote words like “projected passenger travel” and “estimated” while throwing numbers around so fast, that even Superman is starting to look a little windburned.

While numbers and statistics are a necessary evil in the realm of progress, reports and city planning, I’m the kind of person who lives life in the blunt lane, so instead of telling me percentages, I need to know how these numbers translate into simple Good Move/Bad Move terms.

On the off chance, that you, too, might be this kind of person, let me translate the newest numbers from our lovely Northwest Florida International Airport.

Florida League Of Cities to BOOST NWFL Marketing

The dust is finally settling around the Panhandle, bringing with it the need to do a little image enhancing.

During the oil spill, misinformation regarding the impact the spill had on our beaches prompted many to choose other destinations for their vacations. Thankfully, our beaches were spared and the brunt of the spill never touched the snow-white sands of our shores.

As all things must do, we too, have reached the end in The BP Effect Series. Some may shed tears, others may leap with gratitude, me – I had the over-whelming pleasure of stumbling into one of the coolest stores I’ve seen in years, all because of this final interview we conducted with the owners of Polka Dots Retro Toys & Gifts in Pier Park.

Beaches and Bells Holiday 5K

This weekend, Panama City Beach is offering a break from the frantic shopping, menu planning and egg nog.  Saturday, December 18th,  in Pier Park (Arron Bessant Park) outdoor enthusiast will be gathering for a 5K or 1K Fun Run in hopes of raising money for the Lady Marlins and the Cops-N- Kids fund.  In the spirit of holiday giving, start dusting off those jogging shoes, slap on a Santa hat and get that body moving  for a good cause.  If you find yourself lacking motivation, think of this – it’s for the kids! If that still isn’t enough motivation for you, just think how delicious a hot toddy will taste after burning off all those calories. If charity doesn’t get your feet moving, maybe making merry with the beverages will!

Free Clint Black Concert in Pier Park Draws Thousands

The crowd was standing or sitting in their chairs and blankets, cuddled up into each other’s arms Friday night at Pier Park. All waiting and trying to see the stage where Clint Black would perform. The lights went down and at the sound of a guitar the audience jumped up with enthusiastic screams.  Clint Black, with his signature black cowboy hat, brought some heat into the cold night air.
